My ice maker overflows and runs down the left side of the freezer and freezes on the wall as well as cubes have been know to fall out. There is a possibility that the ice maker does not cut off when full. Anyway I have frozen water down my refrig from the ice maker tray. However, the valve in the bottom back does not leak. Please help with this problem

The icemaker was operating correctly; however, water overflows the ice tray and runs down the left side of the freezer and freez. Ice cubes are generated, but over a day or two ice builds up whereas I need the remove it. Again, there is no leakage in the back near the value . . . how can I correct this problem?

Another potential issue that I have found is that you may have very strong water pressure coming into the fridge, which might make the water jump and splash out of the tray. Perhaps turning down the water pressure somehow might be an easy (and cheap) solution?

SOURCE: Ice Maker Problem with overflowing

When the ice maker calls for water it pours for about 7 seconds if more will overflow and the problem is in the ice maker board but if pours water for nomore than 7 seconds and still overflow it means that was extra water in the ice maker ,that means that the dual water valve(located in the bottom back of the refrigerator) is leaking and needs to be replaced.

GE Profile PSS26PSTA SS freezer problem

Forget the warranty - it is only for the compressor and that is usually five years. Did you check for freezer temp - wet cubes indicates too warm up there. Water dispenser lines may be clogged.

If low temps you may have low refrigerant or a defrost mechanism not working - if not working there should be ice buildup on line entering the evaporator in back of compartment.

Ice maker stopped making ice. Now water continuously drips.

Replace the water valve behind refrig , where the wall water line connects to on refrig .

Freezer and icemaker freezes, jams.

I have run into this before and found it very helpful to re-level the refrigerator. By leaning the fridge back toward the wall about an inch helped keep the water and ice in the tray. Remember to remove items that block air flow in the freezer. Remove the ice bin and clean it then start over with the fridge leaning back a little. Hope this helps.

Ice maker feeding too much water and overflows

I have the GE Profile TFX24PR that exhibited the same symptoms. I had water leaking, making ice in the bottom of the ice bin, as well as under the ice bin. I also discovered ice down the back wall of the freezer.

A technician replaced the ice maker, which did not solve the problem. He put the original back and replaced the valve on the back. That too did not solve the problem. I took matters into my own hands.

I discovered that the ice maker water fill tube that comes in through the back of the freezer wall was leaking. Water would run down the outside of the tube. Some of the water would go into the ice maker, some would go into the ice bin and some of the water would also run down the wall of the fan housing where it passes through a hole in the fan housing. The big problem was the water running down the wall of the fan housing. From there it ran onto the cooling coils, where it would freeze, causing the freezer to go into extended defrost. My freezer and fridge would warm up and I had some food spoil.

If this looks like it may be your problem, you may want to enlist some help for this; it is tedious, time consuming and requires working in the confined spaces of the freezer.

After disassembling the fan housing I was able to access the fill tube. It just pushes in and is prone to wear, especially after fourteen years. I just reversed the ends of the tube and pushed it back in for a snug fit. You may want to consider using a sealer. Everything is working fine now; lots of ice in the bin, and no stray ice or water.
