It sounds like the focus element in your lens is not functioning properly. Does the lens retract completely when you turn off the camera? When you push the button does the camera attempt to focus the image? If you do not see any change in the image when you push the button, and do not hear any sound - then your focus motor is either jammed or malfunctioning. David Millier Advance Camera Repair

Canon A75 no images on LCD when shooting

Possibly the same problem I just had with my A75 (and shared with another post here).

Below the LCD are two buttons (versus four on the A70). The button on the left is the Print/Share button, which is new to the A75, while the display button (DISP.) toggles the LCD and what's shown on it on and off.

Hope this works.

No display powershot a75

Did you get a solution to your problem? I am experiencing the exact same thing with my A75. Still takes pictures and displays them for the 2 second preview, then back to black. And they download fine, too. But I get the same black screen in every mode except stitch assist and movie mode. Thanks.

Canon PowerShot A75

If you get a blank screen and the camera is on,there are two ribbons to the LCD one (the smaller one) is power to the screen. the larger ribbon is the data lines. If the camera is on the problem is a loose connection of one or both of the ribbons. Hope this helps Jerry

Picture display result

Which mode are you shooting in?
You may have adjusted the exposure compensation so everything is washed out.

Whatever the cause, your images are overexposed. Try shooting in auto and the camera should take over the settings, but if you are in other modes, check your shutter speed, aperture, & ISO also. These are all things that can cause too much light and wash the picture out/OVEREXPOSE.

If you have any other questions or can give me more details, just ask!

Hope this helps!

Canon A75 No startup sound & display on LCD, rest of things works fine

Think it might be your batteries. 700mah batteries are pretty weak by today's standards (most are at least 2,500 mah these days). I'm guessing your batteries are several years old? If so, they're really only meant to have a usable shelf life of a few years, whether they are used or not. Recommend trying a new set of rechargeable batteries.
