Frigidaire gallery microwave 1998 need instructions

I have a frigidaire gallery builtin microwave, 1580 watts, vintage 1998. Unlike every other microwave on the market, it is not intuitively obvious how to operate it, and I can't figure out how to change the "power" level. There is a button for it, but when I push that button, a message scrolls on the display that says "power level can not be changed at this time". If not at this time, then when? It has other features Ican't figure out either. Is there manual online? A repair person tells me I can buy one for more than the oven is actually worth.

You can download most Frigidaire owner's manuals and installation instructions here or here..

Normally you press Cook Time, 1, 2, 3, then Power Level, then 5 (for 50% power) then Start.

Try cutting the power to it for 15 minutes to effect a power reset to the mainboard.

It is still does it, you need a service call or a new one. It is a known issue.

Frigidaire Mod: FGMV174KFB Door won't latch

Good Morning Friend,

I understand the door will not latch on your Frigidaire microwave, model# FGMV174KFB. Typically, this would not be a do it yourself repair, as you are working with your microwave, and there are no step by step repair instructions. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They have been trained on your appliance and should be able to fix the latch on your door with ease. Hope this is helpful.

FGMV205K cover removal

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to know how to remove the cover on your Frigidaire microwave, model# FGMV205K. There are two different covers that you are able to remove for access to two different light bulbs.

If you are trying to change the Microwave Oven Light for inside your microwave:

1)To replace light bulb, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.

2)Remove the louver by removing the three Hood Louver Screws.

3)Push in the upper tabs and pull the louver away from your appliance.

4)Remove the light bulb and replace with a new 20 watt light bulb. DO NOT USE BULB LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.

5)Close the Oven Light Cover by carefully pushing into place. Push the louver back into place (engaging both the bottom and top tabs) and change to hood Louver Screws.

If you are trying to change the light bulbs underneath your Microwave:

1)To replace light bulbs, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.

2)To open Light Cover, remove the screw on the light cover.

3)Replace the light bulbs with new 20 watt light bulbs. DO NOT USE BULBS LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.

4)Close the Light Cover and secure with screw removed at step 2.

If further troubleshooting is needed, I ask that you please let me know the error codes displayed on your appliance. Hope this is helpful.

      -Best Regards-
