Hbo go sound is not working with the firestick. the sound is a loud fast ticking. I've uninstalled the app and it still doesn't work.

If you're not getting sound in HBO GO, try the following:

  • Make sure your speakers are connected to your Dolby Digital Plus receiver.
  • Make sure your HDMI/Optical connectors are plugged in.
  • Reverse the ends of the cable or trying using another cable.
If you're still not getting sound, try turning off Dolby Digital Plus:

On your Amazon Fire TV or Amazon Fire TV Stick, go to Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio > Dolby Digital Output > and then turn Dolby Digital plusOFF.

In order to get Dolby Digital Plus audio, you need to have a receiver that supports Dolby Digital Plus. Dolby Digital Plus is an audio technology based on Dolby Digital 5.1, the established standard for home theater surround sound.

Home theater hooked up volume sounds low

Check your different settings either in your t.v. or your amp. In your menu settings you can change your audio. Bass trebile etc. and even sometimes switching it from stereo, mono, dolby digital will increase your volume. Dolby digital is very quiet if your not running and exteranal amp system. so try changing it to stereo and your volume should increase.

Dolby digital

Dolby Digital includes several similar technologies, which include Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Digital Live, Dolby Digital Surround EX, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby TrueHD.

Dolby Digital, or AC-3, is the common version containing up to six discrete channels of sound. The most elaborate mode in common usage involves five channels for normal-range speakers (20 Hz – 20,000 Hz) (right front, center, left front, right rear and left rear) and one channel (20 Hz – 120 Hz allotted audio) for the subwoofer driven low-frequency effects. Mono and stereo modes are also supported. AC-3 supports audio sample-rates up to 48 kHz. Batman Returns was the first film to use Dolby Digital technology when it premiered in theaters in Summer 1992. The Laserdisc version of Clear and Present Danger featured the first Home theater Dolby Digital mix in 1995.

This codec has several aliases, which are different names for the same codec:

* Dolby Digital (promotional name, not accepted by the ATSC)
* DD (an abbreviation of above, often combined with channel count: DD 5.1)
* Dolby Surround AC-3 Digital (second promotional name, as seen on early film releases and on home audio equipment until about 1995/1996)
* Dolby Stereo Digital (first promotional name, as seen on early releases, also seen on True Lies LaserDisc)
* Dolby SR-Digital (when the recording incorporates a Dolby SR-format recording for compatibility)
* SR-D (an abbreviation of above)
* Audio Coding 3 (relates to the bitstream format of Dolby Digital)
* AC-3 (an abbreviation of above)
* Audio Codec 3, Advanced Codec 3, Acoustic Coder 3 (These are backronyms. However, Adaptive Transform Acoustic Coding 3, or ATRAC3, is a separate format developed by Sony)
* ATSC A/52 (name of the standard, current version is A/52 Rev. B)

PCM 2.0

I had the same problem with my 321 system. The fix is in the cable box settings. You want to change the Digital Out on the cable box..my choices were HDMI....Dolby Digital..and None. Choose Dolby Digital and it will show up on your Bose 321 display. I also have my cable box connected to my bose system via optical digital cable...and a digital coaxel cable from my dvr to my bose. Change that output setting on my cable box took care of the PCM 2.0 problem for me.

Problem with Dolby Digital mode

If it is a new DVD that may be a problem, as signal changes may be frustrating this old machine... but it is likely the cabling from the DVD player to the reciever. Are you on the right channels/settings? is the optical cable and digital cable recieving digital output from your DVD player? Try changing those settings and you should be in good shape Thanks! good luck!
