Fridge does not work and called a technician to come have a look at the compressor, it is 100% fine...but the fridge is just off, what can be the problem...its a samsung double door fridge

Depends a bit on whether the compressor really is running, or if it's just humming because it's got power on the run coil, but not on the start coil.

Have a careful listen to the compressor. If it's making the trilling or gurgling sounds that go with a working compressor, then your problem is probably one of lost gas. Fixing this is not a do-it-yourself job.

If the compressor sounds like it's stalled, the problem may lie with the starter. Replacements are usually cheap enough for it to be worth fitting a new one just to see if it works.

sounds like a defrost problem. check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. if so, it is not defrosting like it should.

it sounds like the refrigerator evap is frozen up causing the compartment to get too hot. shut the unit off and let it thaw out. then take the screws out of the cover to check the stryrofoam on the back side of the cover to see if theres broken spots on it causing the air to bypass the evap causing it to freeze. Theres two screws behind the light cover and two at the very bottom of the cover and two behind the decorative plugs about 1/2 way

1) the gas in the refrigerator never has to be refilled, it is a sealed system. some one ripped you off. 2)if the thermostat is bad they are easy to replace. take the model # and bring it to your local parts house. sears now repairs all brands so if you have no parts house go to sears repair center. 3)you say the thermostat doesn't shut off. does the milk or soda in the refrigerator section freeze? get a food thermometer and leave it in a glass of water check the temp. of the water after an hour or two it should read 37- 42 degrees.if it is colder than that what setting is the thermometer set at, it should be on the energy efficient setting or the middle of the range.. if after all these minor checks, make sure your doors are closing properly and the light is going off. you may have a door adjustment problem. if allthese tests are ok then get a new thermostat, but remember all parts are not returnable so make sure you get the part you need. self help books are available at your local library check one out!

Thanks so much for the advice. I just gently pried the door sensor switch on my Samsung RB1855SL out with a butter knife and then pulled out the electrical connection and it fired up right away. It looks like some orange juice seeped in and corroded it. What a relief to have the fridge working again, not to mention to not have to listen to the beeping.
