You can try upgrading the BIOS:
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=713738&rpn=PSA60U&modelFilter=A60-S166&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663&selModel=713738|PSA60U

I don't know that's going to do it for you.

This software will allow you to backup and restore the BIOS, just in case, as well as give you another tool to try cloning the drive itself:

I have toshiba satellite L305d-s5934, Blue screen error appear and hang, when i boot or when i press F2 to enter bios... if i full out the hard disk the computer says: no bootable disk and if i press F2 to...

Sounds like your HDD may have gone bad. What is the name/number of the blue screen error? Google it and see what it means. It may be possible to reinstall the operating system to the original factory settings using the recovery partition (this is usually accessed by tapping F10 or F11 while booting, although I read somewhere that you might be able to gain access to the Toshiba recovery partition by pressing "0" (zero) while the computer is powering on).

You can try to recover the computer to factory settings. If your hard drive has enough life left on it, you might be able to then clone it to a new drive. Drive Image XML is a free software that will do this for you (get that from www.download.com). This way, when you clone the drive, you will also clone the recovery partition, so you don't lose that option. Once you have a new hard drive up and running, use the Toshiba Utility to make System Recovery Disks for the future.

One more thing: If you have recently upgraded/replaced the RAM - this might be your problem. Put the original RAM back in and see if the computer boots. If so, you found the culprit.

Won't boot from hard drive

Check the boot settings. The bios may be trying to boot the old hard drive and doesn't even see the new one. If the old hard drive was removed, the BIOS will go to the next boot device. Also, is there something on the hard drive to boot to? If it is a blank hard drive you will need to install an operating system, otherwise it will not boot.

If you do not want to buy a parger HDD for the laptop and clone the existing HDD to the new larger one, then I would go with a larger External HDD and move certain files to it like music and pictures that seem to take up most of the room.

I want to replace the hard drive in my toshiba satellite A65-S1762

Easy. Your HDD is located in front of the battery pack - to the side. The door is held in by one screw, and the HDD is held to a bracket by 2 screws. Any 2.5", 9.5mm height ATA IDE drives will do. Make sure you don't lose the door, bracket, and screws.

Cannot boot from Momentus Ultra ATA 160 GN HDD

it can only clone the windows files and folders there is other files located on a hidden system on the hard drive, when you install and new hard drive these file are fixed to the drive. to make a bootable drive you need to install these files from a windows disc then add clone files over the top so these files don't get deleted.

Toshiba A65-S1065 hdd compatibility

The hard drive should work fine thats a standard IDE drive.

For the overheating problem you probably just need to clean the fans with a can of compressed air. That series gets clogged pretty easily. Just blow from the bottom of the laptop where you see the fan towards the outlet in the rear.

You can boot from a USB floppy drive to do a bios upgrade - you can get USB floppies for $20 or so.

Or i have loaded a bios from a bootable CD (you can make one from Roxio or Sonic record now if you make a bootable floppy first - get one Here:
