Where can I purchase new IP Board (power board) and I PCB Board (main board)
I had the same problem. I work for a mother board manufacturer w/offices in New Jersey and brought mine into our engineering lab after Samsung told me tough luck. Anyway, one of my engineers fixed it in 10 minutes. Essentially, he replaced the 1000uF capacitors on the power supply board with 2 cent capacitors instead of the 1 cent capacitors that had blown out on the CHEAP SAMSUNG POWER SUPPLY BOARD. You can tell the caps are blown via visual inspection. The top of the cap should be perfectly flat and a blown cap will be convex on top. Unfortunately, there are also 2500 uF caps by the same cheap manufacturer on the board as well and we don\'t stock that value for our products. According to my engineer, those will most likely blow next since he replaced the others with better caps, but I\'m getting samples of those and will replace them shortly. After that this piece of junk should last me at least another 2 yrs! It\'s been working for about a week now w/no problems. Hope this helps.
Follow Up: I just called 1-800-Samsung and they are going to send someone out. I gave them the model, s/n and version# which is on a sticker on the right lower corner on the side of the TV (facing TV from front). I bought in Oct of 2008. I am impressed by how they stand by their product. Hope this helps.

Is the red LED blinking 4 times, hear relay click and wait, then another cycle? I developed this problem yeaterday. No visable damage or discoloration of components.

Samsung LNS4051D - I replaced power supply board parts CM806, 811, 812 & 817, all 1000 uf 10v capacitors, three had their tops bulged up slightly that I missed on initial visual inspection. After seeing the reports of problems with these caps, I replaced them with Radio Shack part 272-1032, 1000 uf, 35v. They are slightly bigger, but fit OK. TV is working fine now. Cost was 4 x $1.59 = $6.36 plus the time. I saved between $100 to 300 in the process of either replacing the board or getting the unit serviced. Well worth the effort and experience.

Thanks everyone for the helpful tips on the bad capacitors. I opened the back of my LNT4042HX and there were the bad capacitors plain as day CM806, 811, 812 & 817 plus i had 1 more bad one # 807 which the top was bulging, so i replaced all 5 with 1000uF 35v capacitors from Radio Shack. It took about an hour to do the entire job and my TV was up and running again. Or should I say turning off & on like its suppose to "With The Power Button" ;) Life is good once again :D
Anybody who has bought a Samsung LCD tv in the last few years and is having problems with it not turning on or making clicking noises when it tries to switch on can get it repaired for free by Samsung, even if it is out of warranty. Mine started to go wrong a couple of weeks ago. I had the clicking problems and also a green overcast on the screen. I called Samsung and it was repaired within 3 days free of charge. Call 01932 454358 Samsung. The engineer said the fault is because the wrong components were fitted to the televisions in the factory.
I'm on the telephone with Samsung now. They will provide a "one time, free of charge" repair of the capacitor issue. They are setting up a ticket for the service now. I recommend giving them a call.
Great Advise , after I read this I called 1800samsung (Canada) and explained all I had done (tried unplugging three min/tried different cables/etc) sound but black screen.
He gave me a ticket # and Local Electronics shop, they picked up the TV (46" bought Nov 1st 2010 - 13 months ago - No extended Warranty) two days later (Dec 2'11) and just returned it (Dec 7'11) after replacing the powerboard.

Had the same problem with my LA40R71BDX. After stumbling upon this thread (luckily) I've saved myself at least AU$500. The same capacitors described by everyone else (CM806, 811, 812 & 817) were bulging and two had black stains on the top. Replaced those with 1000uf 16v capacitors (as the 35v ones i'd prev bought were too big) screwed it all back together and presto! worked first go! Thanks to everyone on this page, you've been great! Oh and by the way, if you are thinking about doing this and haven't done ANYTHING like this before (i.e. Soldering, electrical work) I suggest you take the risk. I had no experience before this and it was a breeze. There is a youtube video on how to replace these exact caps on a 52 inch LCD samsung... Just search samsung tv repair. Thanks again!
Thanks guys, my Samsung LNT 4061 had the same problem, after 1 year and a half. I called Samsung and they told me that I was on my own (CANADA). After reading the Forum i bought the capacitors 7.25 dollars. replaced it and it is working again.

Same problem, clicking sounds...no picture on my beloved Samsung LCD tv. I opened it up, and sure enough, those same four capacitors were blown on mine as well (including the burn-mark on a nearby ribben). Uncanny. I've never dealt with this sort of thing before, but on close inspection ONLY these 4 capacitors were not flat on top, and three of them had black marks on them as well. Went to Radio Shack, bought the replacements described above, as well as a $8 solder iron kit (which came with solder as well) and in about 30 minutes had replaced all four capacitors. There are lots of helpful how-to YouTube videos on how to solder if you have never done it. My TV is back to perfect working order AND I learned how to solder. Not bad for a days work!
I had the same problem and found a board for 112 dollars shipped on the internet. Two days after I ordered the board the TV is on and working. The IP board # BN44-00134A for a LNS4501 samsung. I purchased it from partstore.com.
OMG!!! We just changed the 4 capacitors and it WORKS!!! No a hesitation, no problems at all. I\'m floored that this worked. It cost $6 t o fix!!! Screw Samsung and Best Buy for trying to get hundreds of dollars to fix this. As a quick note, I have never worked on anything electrical, and this was so easy. I've just found a solution to everyone's problem!!!! Just like scores of you, my Samsung tv has the same fault...Go to Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) Forget the 12month warranty....We have 6 years in which to claim replacement/refund; and it is the seller not the manufacturer who is liable..I've just sent my retailer the facts and hey presto instant reply to make things right...Go for it...good luck!xx.

My Samsung LN-T4061F TV was taking more than 2 minutes to power up while it power cycled several times. After it finally powered up, it would work fine. I called Samsung and they said it was related to the capacitor problem and that they would fix it for free. A repairman replaced five capacitors, two of which had popped the top . The repairman said that the problem was that since the capacitors were close to a heat sink, they needed to be rated for a higher temperature. The capacitors that he removed were rated for 105 degrees Celsius, but I didn't see the ratings on the replacement caps. He also said that the time limit for getting the repair for free was almost over, but I think the deadline depends on when you bought the TV. After the repair, the TV powers up in about 5 seconds and works like new.
I have a burned out capacitor as well; however, it has 2200 uf (10V) on it. It also has 115 degrees C as a rating. I'm nervous about buying different capacitors at Radio Shack...what should I do?
Also, I just noticed ONE capacitor that was bulged/burned; the others looked fine. Should I replace all the other capacitors as well?
Replace all of them. They will eventually fail see:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_p... for the root cause if you are interested. You can use the same parameters as the original. Just don't use cheap Taiwanese caps. Panasonic are great...

I have the same problems listed here, my tv will not turn on. It trys (red blinking light) but it doesn't turn on. I am trying to solve this based on the information on this website by trying to replace the power supply board but I don't know where to get one from. If anyone knows a good place to start please reply I would greatly appreciate this information

Shack bought the 4 35v capacitors and replaced the four slightly bulging, slightly oosing black paste capacitors on the circuit board and IT WORKED!!! Total time to repair was 1.5 hours. Total cost was $6.78. Getting the bad capacitors out of the circuit board was the trickiest part but I did it. I can't believe I save at least $500 by not taking it to a repair shop. Billne.....you saved me a bundle. I am not an electrician....just a tightwad and it worked!
Same problem, powering on Samsung LNS4051, got worse and finally got picture but no sound, pressed power button, sound came back, rewound DVR lost sound, hit power button again no picture, had back light. Stopped using and looked at power board, caps bulged. My question is do you think I damaged the main board by using the TV for about a week with the power problem???

Same problem as do most Samsung owners! Won't turn on! We will definetly NEVER be purchasing a Samsung item EVER again! Thanks to do-it-yourself people, the TV was trash anyway, so it's worth a try.
My Samsung 40" TV did the exact same thing described here...
It's the easiest thing in the world to fix.
Go to Radio Shack and get 1000uF 36V Capacitors (they will be bigger than the originals)
Locate the capacitors based on the photos in this blog.
If you have never done this practice on an old piece of electronics. Remember...keep the soldering iron with a light coat of solder on it.
Replace the caps and its done.....will take 1 hr... 2 if you need to practice.
I have the same problem, but my tv is only 14 months old. I believe my model is Samsung LN-T4661F. I would hit the "on" button and it would click for several minutes, then it would start. It did it for 3 days, and today it won't start.
My 40" Samung LN-S4051DX had this same problem. Kept taking longer and longer to turn on eventually taking over 30 minutes, continually cycling through the power up sequence. Finally got to 60+ minutes and would not come on. Following the information from other posts, took the unit apart and sure enough the 1000uf caps had bulged tops and we're blown. In fact one of the ribbon cables that runs between the IP Power board and the Main board near the caps had a burn mark on it. Changed the four capacitors (as mentioned by others, it was the same four capacitiors, CS806, CM811, CM812, and CM 817) and the unit is back working normal again. Less than $7.00 for the parts. Good thing. I tried calling several places trying to get a replacement IP Power board before coming across this site and was told the power supply is discontinued and equivalent replacment boards have been discontinued as well. Hoping to get a few more years out of this set as it's only two years old.

i have a samsung 19inch syncmaster 940w after storing it fro six months i opted to used it but when i did try to fine tune it it freezes and woulnt turn off so i pull the power cord and have difficulty turning it on i after several tries it turn own but wouldnt work on the remote or buttons so i did pull again the power cord and fron then on it never turn on even the lights.nothing.what could it be

I just replaced these 4 capacitors with Radioshack (272-1032). My TV won't start though. It is still making same clicking sound with 4 blinks of red light. Has anyone else observed this? Any solutions? Opinions? Any help is greatly appreciated.
