Music folders don't show on Sony Walkman device

Hello, I have just recently renamed some folders on my Sony Walkman music folder, but after I disconnect it from the PC and try to access them on the Walkman device, the folders don't show up at all. Though I can see the songs inside are stored on the device.
How do I make them (re)appear?

And jesus, why require from the topic author to type the product model, when the product is not listed at all? I had to choose a wrong product in "What product is it about?" because it didn't consider the real one valid. The product I'm using is Sony NWZ-A826.

I found out! The device could not find the folders because I have decapitalized the letters in the root music folder (MUSIC > Music). I didn't thought it would have trouble doing so, but it works now.

SOURCE: downloading music from pc to phone

Have you installed and tested the drivers? Are you able to copy pictures across? If you're using the bundled software to copy files across, try opening the phone's folder using Windows Explorer and copying them straight over. This uses the obex drivers - USB mass storage and file transfer.
Otherwise, there may be a problem with the file you downloaded. Check it's size - if it's of an unusually small size (under 300 KB, unless it's a REALLY short song!) it may be corrupt. Try ripping a song from a CD with Windows Media Player, then copying that across. Be sure to change the rip settings to MP3.
Hope this is of some help...

How do I Put Music on an NW-E003F Sony MP3 Player?

The Sony Walkman E003F is a small portable device resembling a flash drive. This Walkman has 1 GB of storage which accommodates about 685 songs. When the battery is at capacity, the Walkman can play back up to 28 hours of audio. The small player has a built-in USB connector to make downloading convenient. If you want to add songs to your MP3 player, you must use Windows Explorer to download MP3-, AAC- and WMA-formatted audio to the device.

Instructions

Remove the USB cap on the player to reveal the USB plug.

Insert the USB plug on the player into the computer's USB port.

Select "My Computer" from the desktop "Start" menu.

Double-click on the "WALKMAN" drive folder to open it.

Double-click to open the "MUSIC" folder.

Drag the audio file from the save location on the computer and drop it in the "MUSIC" folder. The songs will load and play in the order that they are dropped into the folder.

Hope it helped.

File deletion problem from Garmin c550

If your undelete program lets you undelete the _P3 folder, do it. Then try renaming it to MP3. See if this helps. This is the folder in which all of your music is stored. If it allows you to change the folder name, you should now see (and be able to delete) all of your music files stored on the GPS.

How do i synchronize my subscribtion

Hi,
I'm not sure what's the subscription service to which you are subscribed. However I've given you the steps below. Try whatever suits for you.
This error typically occurs when the DRM licensed files have expired.

SOLUTION 1 - Songs ripped from an audio CD
If the songs were ripped from a CD using Windows Media Player, modify the Rip Music settings

SOLUTION 2 - Songs downloaded from music subscription service
If the songs were downloaded from a music subscription service (e.g., Napster, Rhapsody, Best Buy music store, etc.), follow these steps:
1. Make sure that your account subscription is updated and active.
2. Put the device in MTP mode and connect to the computer, then log in to your music subscription account.
3. Renew the licenses of your tracks
For Rhapsody:
On the Rhapsody console, right-click on your device and select License

1. Check the date & time on your PC & on your mp3 player. They should be one and the same. 2. You need to synchronize your device with rhapsody once in every 30 days. It's a must. Failing to do so, you will not be able to play music in your mp3 player. Here are a few a steps to synchronize your device with rhapsody: 1.Open Rhapsody / Best Buy Digital Music Store and sign in 2.Connect your mp3 player to the computer 3.Go to My Account --> Update Track Licenses 4.Transfer a track to your device 5.Disconnect your device and enjoy music on the go!
3. Here is a link to get the Sansa Firmware updater to update the firmware for your device automatically: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376
4. Click on this links if you are asked to synchronize your device with rhapsody? http://reclisten.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/reclisten.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=6606&tabName=tab3

For others:
Contact music subscriber for instructions on how to renew as they vary.

SOLUTION 3 - Rename the Windows DRM folder

NOTE:  The Windows DRM (Digital Rights Management) folder contains licenses for secure media files such as your subscription tracks.

STEP 1 - Edit the folder options of the PC to show the hidden files
Windows XP:
1. Double-click My Computer
2. On the Menu bar, click Tools > Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
3. Under Hidden files and Folder, click to select Show hidden files and folders
4. Under Hidden files and Folder, click to clear Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box.
5. Click Apply, and then OK

Windows Vista:
1. Double-click Computer
2. Click the Organize button at the upper left corner.
3. Click Folder and Search options.
4. Click the View tab and select Show hidden files and folders
5. Click to clear the Hide protected operating system files check box.
6. Click Apply, and then OK

STEP 2 - Rename the DRM folder
1. Double-click My Computer > C: > Documents and Settings > All Users
2. Right-click the DRM folder and select Rename
3. Rename this as OLDDRM
4. Run the subscription service program you are using and renew the licenses to recreate the DRM folder with new licenses.

STEP 3 - Synchronize your device once more on MTP mode

SOLUTION 4 -  Format the player under Windows Media Player

Mp3

if it doesn't sync, don't worry just open the folder where the music files are stored on your computer, connect your Sony Walkman to your computer and highlight the music files you want to add to the Walkman and select (copy these files) a windows will open for you to select the place you want to copy to, select your mp3 player and click on copy to copy the selected music to your Walkman

NOTE: if you Sony Walkman has a specific folder for music files, you need to move the songs you copied from your hard drive's music folder to the music folder on your mp3 player for the player to recognize the songs in order to play.
