What model number Dometic AC unit to add to RV?

I replaced one unite with another and the wires are differance colors the old unites wires are red,purple,yellow,bleck and white the new one have orange,brown,cream,darkpurple,and white

My Unit is only about 5 years old; but it's working great now. I spoke to a man at an RV service department, he suggest replacing the thermostate and Jay box, which is the box inside my roof unit, accessable when I remove the filter. When I replaced the thermostate nothing changed, but the Jay box did the trick. The Jay Box came with a new thermostate anyway, and cost around $80. Good Luck

check the compressor winding resistance from common to start

run to common
the two lowest should equil the highest
also check shorted to ground
check the capacitors the go bad a lot

Just a guess, as I am not familiar with the solar assist, if the stat is wall mounted I would remove it and verify if there is wither standard batteries, or a "watch" style battery. hope this helps

Is it a ducted system? If yes, check that there isn't gaps between the divider that separates return air at the front, with forced(cold) air. You can usually use a flashlight and look for gaps, or even (very carefully) feel it blowing cold into the warm air return. If you find some gaps, buy some foil tape, and tape them off good and retry and see if it still happens. Some older units experienced cracks in drip trays that allowed condensation to drip inside as well. Get back to me with year of your RV, and whether it's ducted or non-ducted system, and perhaps I can guide you better on what to look for.
