My washing machine is stuck on pause mode. When I push any button or turn the wash cycle knob I get beeps and an error message that flashes PAU & ERR. I have tried all the solutions listed on this site. I have also tried every conceivable combination of buttons to unlock the control panel, unplugged the machine overnight and checked the connections on the door to make sure they are catching properly - all to no avail. Please help!
I fixed this myself and it only took about 5 minutes. The problem is the door latch needs to be reset, which requires unplugging it's three electrical connections. This has to be done inside the washer outer seal, but it is easy to get to. First remove the outer ring that holds the seal on. Next remove only the side of the seal closest to the door latch (again only the outer seal needs to be undone). With this done remove the two screws holding the door latch in place (inside). Remove the latch, unplug the three connectors, plug them back in then reassemble everything. When all is back in place hit "cancel" and it should be good to go.
Sir,
I do not know you but would like to extend a great big hand shake your way. Your advice on resetting the door latch was spot on!!!!! I just had called Frigidaire and they were very little help, they advised me to use the option / select reset soloution. Of course the option from Frigidaire did not work. Once I used your solution the washer worked fine. Thanks for saving me 200.00 in repairs. If ever we meet the first beer is on me.
OMG this worked! My Frigidaire ATF6000ES1 washer was stuck on an ERR PAUSE message and I did the above, very easy and it reset! THANKS A BUNCH...

How do you remove the outer ring that holds the seal on?
How do you remove the outer ring you mentioned?
Can someone please help? I have err E41 and would like to try the steps given above. How do you remove the outer ring that holds the seal on? Thanks
i watched the first minute of this youtube video and was able to remove and reinstall the outer sealhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPmNtO-Q... thanks to mr. pj fixit for this great solution though
Mr PJ Fixit's solution totally worked. Thanks, man!!
Thanks for saving us a major headache. THANK YOU!
Mr. PJ Fixit. Thank you very much. Your solution saved us time and money. The error in my washer was "err pau 18h". Just a recommendation for others trying...make sure your washer is plugged and error displayed while doing the procedure so the reset can take place.
Did this. Yes, it took only 5 mis, and so far so good. Thank you!!
I wish I would have seen this prior to buying a motor control board and the latch assembly. I knew it was wasn't a normal code because it didn't have an E with the number 57. Funny thing is my buddy is a repairman and told me that 57 was the error code. He must have failed the Frigidaire repair coarse. Now I have some extra parts that hopefully I won't need anytime soon.

Aerb, unplug the washer for 30 seconds and plug it back in. With in five seconds press and hold the start/pause and cancel buttons together. As long as these buttons are held in you should get the error code. The code should appear as an E followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. We need to find out what the actual error is. If this works, post back with the code. Catriver.
aerb, If the error code is a 57, that could be a problem with the motor control board or motor itself. E57 means a high current on the inverter. Here is what you have to check. Remove the belt from the motor and spin the motor pulley. If it does not spin, the motor is the problem. Spin the tub pulley, does it spin free? If not it may be the tub bearings. Remove the harness from the motor and measure the resistance between pins 1&2 1&3 and 2&3. All the readings should be between 4 to 6 ohms.If the readings are good, replace the speed control board. If the readings are incorrect replace the motor. Parts can get expensive so the tests must be made. This is for an e57 code. Catriver...post back.
that doesn't work for me. No error code, just stuck on Err and PAU
When I did that it gave me "E41". This is the second time it has done this. The first time it just started working on its own. Very aggravating. Any suggestions? Sounds like you really know what you are talking about. Thanks
I got "E41" too, what do I have to do?

I did the above and got a code of dr. My washer model number is GLTF2070DS0. the first code I got when the machine went down was PAU.
I did everything and the pause button is still lit. what do i do? my washer wont work because the pause button. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Mr PJ Fix IT- I just had to thank you SOOO much for all of your help. We have had this washer for about 4yrs now, it's a piece of junk. I'd have paid for it three times over if I had to call a repair man everytime something went wrong. I swear I get the E20 every six weeks. Tonight it locked up in pause, and you helped us fix it!!! Thanks soooo much for your help!!! You are a life saver!!!!
We have a frigidaire washer ATF6000ESO. Our machine was flashing ERR then PAU then 33 and wouldn't do anything else. A service call determined that is was saying that it was in the pause mode and had 33 minutes left on a "quick cycle"and he determined that the door latch/switch was faulty and that caused the machine to think the door was open. Needless to say a new latch/switch fixed it!
What does the DR code mean?

Catriver,
Thank you for the help. I unplugged the washer for 30 seconds, plugged it back in, held down the Start/Pause and Cancel buttons together and the same error message comes up (Err). The machine is blinking 57 and PAU when no buttons are held down. I think 57 is the last wash setting we used and I'm assuming PAU means Pause.
Any ideas?
catriver - thank you for your help - luckily the washer is still under warranty and electrolux sent out a repair tech who determined the control panel had broken. This is covered under the warranty, so they are replacing it. Thank you for your assistance is attempting to help me!
Same problem--using your method to determine error code, I got error code E47.
PAU code
i get an error message and its stuck on pause. I am unable to get a number. a few months ago the repair tech unplugged something and it was just fine.. any suggestions
Any idea what error code ESE means?
Mr PJ Fixit - You just saved us a major headache too, THANK YOU
My retared inlaws were visiting and would over load the machine and it would rattle out of balance. Once one of the support feet got loose and had to reconnect it because the plastic screw got loose. one year later it started pausing thanks to them inlaws visiting. it seems the after praying lubricant Silicon between the pulley wheel and the drum it started spinning faster. it seems as if it might have to do with too much friction at that location. I get no error code except the pause. I cleaned and reset the door switch and still keeps pausing.
