Oven 'stopped working' after turning off from mains while cooking

My Stoves electric single fitted oven seems to be broken now.

I switched it off at the fuse spur last night for a moment , when I switch it on now the power light flashes on for a second only and the fan comes on (for about two seconds) and then it stops, the display is the only thing that stays working after that.
The reason I switched it off at the spur was to isolate the power to the gas hob starter button which started clicking by itself.
The starter problem is now resolved but the cooker seems to be cutting itself out.
Any Ideas what the cause is ?

similar but after power cut, the oven display just flashes auto 0.00 and no series of button pressing will get the oven to turn on

A lot of times the problem is with a dirty or a clogged burner. Make sure the burner is clean.
If you have a pilotless model, it uses a spark igniter to ignite the gas, which works in a combination with a spark switch (located on the burner gas valve) and a spark module. Because it is not simple to test these parts and find out which one is defective, we recommend to contact a professional appliance technician.

i am having the same problem but i have been told it is the cooler fan so i have ordered a new one,the fan unit requires running as it is linked to safety sensors the equal air preasure and if not equiled by the fan moter it cuts everything off and in my case it trips the mains power but may not in your case

Why has our oven stopped working whilst cooking - nothing electrical seems to be working?

Did you check your electrical breakers? Maybe it tripped. Reset it by first switching it fully to the off position, then switch it to on.

I have a Simpson electric oven with stove top elements, and one of the burners will only cook at the highest level, I cant figure out how to change it, any suggestions?

You need to change the "Simmerstat", take the model number to your local electrical parts supplier/parts counter at your local stove retail shop that sells Simpson stoves and ask for one for that model, make sure you get the right one for the position as some control a single element and some control dual elements.

*** TURN OFF THE WALL SWITCH AND ENSURE NO POWER IS APPLIED TO THE STOVE BEFORE PROCEEDING ****
Remove the upper back panel of the stove. Swap wire for wire of the old simmerstat to the new one, remove the knob from the old Simmerstat, undo the nut securing the simmerstat in the oven control panel and discard, fit new one, secure, fit knob, fit back panel, turn on wall switch and test.

Some countrys/states require registered electricians perform this task on electrical appliances so you must ensure you can do this legally before you start and take the relevant safety precautions and don't electrocute yourself.

Hi Guys I have a Stoves 720EF Double Oven and Grill. Whilst halfway through cooking some sausages on the grill this evening, the grill suddenly stopped working (plus the LED for the grill knob showing...

If the element and the indicator light both stopped working this suggests a problem with the power supply for the grill control. Either the grill control has no power going to it or it is faulty and requires replacement. If you are not sure what you are doing you'd better get a tech. to look at it, it can be fairly complicated for the untrained person.
