Don't know how to upload music onto LG enV VX9900 cell phone

I have music on my laptop in various formats, including mp3. I usually use iTunes to play them. I would like to play the music on my phone by plugging headphones into my phone and playing the music while I am away from my desk. For example, when I am in the gym or at work. But I do not know how to get the music on to my phone. I have used bluetooth before, to move photos taken from my old phone onto my laptop. But I am worried that this will take long to transfer many large song files. I see that my phone has a USB port, but I thought it was only for charging the phone, and I am wondering if I can also use this USB port for transferring files onto my phone. I also see that my phone has a "micro SD" card port. I do not know what this is. Is it like a thumb drive or external hard drive for my phone, that I should store the music on, and then play when I plug it in? Or use it to transfer the music from my laptop to my phone? How would I connect the micro SD card to my laptop? I am hoping you can suggest the best way to get music onto my phone.

How do you put music on my sd card from pc.

  • danielejs4 Mar 02, 2009

I have the music on my SD card but I can't figure out how to play it. Every time I try I get an error that there is no music. I know I have music on the card. I have seen it through the Windows Explorer. I synced it with Windows Media Player and even copied those songs into the folder that says My Music on the card.

When I go in the phone to My Music and even just try 7. Play All it says PLAYER ERROR Music is not available.

I followed the directions... songs show up on the card while it's hooked to my computer, but when I put it back into my phone, it tells me nothing was found. Now what??

I can't play music from my mini-sd card on my LG VX9900. Thanks

The LG Env can only support music within the MUSIC folder on the Mini SD card, put all the MP3's in the Music folder.

Also it only supports wmv's and MP3's if my memory serves correctly.

Music player error

It works just as long as you first format your memory stick when you first insert it into your phone then drop and drag your MP3 formatted songs onto it via USB cable or through your MicroSD reader on your computer, just make sure it's in the correct folder which is the "my music" folder on the memory stick, then go to your media folder and play it from there. Aloha!

How do I upload music from my micro sd card to my cell phone. I already have the music loaded on the card. I have an LG 9900 phone from Verizon. I was able to download pictures but I can't upload music.

First off make sure you have a copy of any pics, vids & music you want to keep... then make sure you format the memory card in the phone. Settings, Memory, Card Memory, options, format. If you are not using a Music Essential Kit, then you plug the card into a memory reader attached to your computer. If you open the drive through "My Computer" you should see file folders for my pics, my videos, my music, etc. Make sure you place the music files in the music folder. (Music has to be DRM-free .mp3's, .wma's, etc. NO iTUNES unless converted) Put the card back in the phone and go to Get it Now, My Tunes...

Phone not reading music on LG enV from memory card....

i had the same problem with my original "the v" you may want to check the file type. If you have wma files, you should try converting them to mp3 or vice versa. research to see what file types your phone supports. I had to take mine into the verizon store to have them update the software on my phone to be able to play mp3 files.

Putting Music on LG enV

If you buy an SD card for your phone, you can put it in your computer, transfer the songs you want over, and then put it in your phone. The music still plays through VCAST, but you don't have to pay. :]

How do I transfer MP3 from SanDisk to my LG EnV?

your music needs to be in mp3 form (possibly wav..not sure) but you could be using Mp4, which is from itunes, which you can't do. I had one song that it said this to, so I changed the format to mp3 with some software, but I don't remember what it was called.
you can find out the file type by right clicking the song and clicking properties.

Can't play music!

for the ones off of iTunes they have to be mp3's and the only thing i can think of is that you might not be putting them into the "My Music" folder on your micro sd card. hope this helps.

Mp3 player

1. The EnV can only play .wma and .mp3 files .. make sure no other filetype (music) exists.

2. try formatting the card before putting music on it. Make sure all your files are backed up somehwere as formatting= erasing

3. power down the phone .. Take the battery out ... then put the battery back in and power it back on and try it again .... if it fixes your problem then you were having a software glitch

Hope this helps.

LG EnV vx9900 won't transfer pictures using usb cable

Since no one has answered this yet and I found a solution, I minus well help the people out there. This is how I do it:
1) go to menu
2) go to tools
3) go to USB Mass Storage
This will allow your computer to recognize your phone/card and will open it. I highly recommend transferring all your photos and video to your card instead of your phone memory. This is how you transfer it from your phone to your card:
1) go to menu
2) go to settings
3) go to memory
from here you can gain access to what is on your phone memory and your card memory. From this you can edit where you want to save your pics/videos/sounds to (either phone or card memory) and transfer your media files from your phone to your card or vise versa.

Good luck and I hope this helped you all.
