How do I clean the filter on my Honeywell HFD 110? I know this model does not require replacement filters and can be cleaned with water, but how am I to go about this? Thanks, PW

The clicking noise is the sound of the high ionizing voltage 'shorting' due to dirt or humidity or both which provides the pathway for discharge. Cleaning and completely drying the filter(s) does not always help, in this case switching the unit to a lower operational speed can mitigate this problem. New filter(s) may be needed to resolve the clicking.
To the left of the little red light is the reset button. It's disguised as another light that isn't on. :) Press and hold it for about 10 seconds and the red light will turn off.

When the filter monitor light remains on, it is time to check/clean the IFD™ filters and reset the filter monitor, if needed. With the unit powered on, insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip next to the LED filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off (Fig. 3). Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used), you may need to check and clean the filters more or less frequently. If the IFD™ filters are cleaned before the filter monitor light turns on, the filter monitor should be reset at the same time.
