I have an 01 jeep grand cherokee, I was driving home and it fell flat on it face then picked right back up. Went on and then the tack meter went to 0 then it died.

If equipped with a 4lt engine I would suspect a crank sensor or ignition coil issue to cause this problem especially with higher mileage. You may also have a fuel delivery problem ( fuel pump ) causing this issue. Is the check engine light on? If so have the codes scanned for any crank senor problems. The crank sensor and or ignition are problamatic on these engines with high mileage

Accord starts shuts off

stalls. engine stalls. Stalls only HOT. and fails hot soaked.
stalls have 4 paths ?
1: lost DC power, to EFI (spark and fuel brains) "loose fuse?"
2: lost compression only hot (compression gauge to rescue)
3: lost spark or the classic, never doing 60k mile tuneups.
or the classic EGR stuck open , again not ever cleaned at 60k
4: bad fueling. (too much floods, it and stalls it, or tool lean it dies)
(or stuck closed ISC) we clean it at 60k with the EGR. as part of the 60k service points listed in the missing operators guide. (bet)

in that order, this 4 macro paths to , no stalls.
do you want me to guess which of 50 parts are bad.?
or do the 4 tests. to find which path it is.
one takes a month, other 1hr.

one more test. can you save this stall with a fast right foot?
Y/N?

and how easy was it to save, if true.

What does the 60k mile maintenance entail? how much it cost?

The dealer will get top dollar for anything they do, or possibly persuade you to do. At 60k, besides check this or check that, it is wise to do air filter every15k, max 30k. Fuel filter every 15k, max 30k. cabin filter every15k. Spark plugs these days can go as high as 100k. Serpentine belt at 45-60k. Coolant flush and fill every 30k, or every 2-3 years. Rotate tires every 6-8k. Oil and filter change every 3-5k. Most of that 700.00 is probably labor at probably $100/hr. to check brakes, check tires, check battery, safety check, etc., run tests, install new filters. All these dealers have checklists they establish to give you full security and comfort in knowing your car is safe and reliable.. You seem to know a little about it...it's the old saying, don't fix it if it ain't broke. At least discuss it with them, and then make an educated decision.
