My Mitsubishi WS-55819 picture turns a bluish cloudy after a while. It clears up by itself and then does it again. I noticed that when this happens it takes longer to show a picture when turned off then back on

Good day!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WS-55819 power issue

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB (NOT SHOWN IN THE SCHEMATIC). 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB

If so how does anyone know how much it would cost to repair/replace & What is a "Convergence Module"?? I don't know if my T.V has one of those or not but if it doesnt is that the problem perhaps?? Please help me or ill be forced to go outside... :-( ..... thanx 4 the help ppl!! -

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WS-55819 Won't turn on

If F9A04 and F9A05 are open the convergence ICs will need to be replaced as well as the two pico fuses. You will need two STK392-570 Convergence ICs and two 5 amp pico fuses. You ca get the replacement parts at the following link with free installation instructions. heres thelink.

SOURCE: WS-55511 55in volume turns up by itself & can't switch devices

The remote is not the problem. The switch for volume up on the control panel has become leaky. Very common problem for this generation Mitsubishi. If you don't mind not having the control panel working you can disconnect it and the set will work just fine with the remote. To disconnect the control panel pull the speaker grill, it just snaps off, and remove the front access panel. Once that is done you'll see a cable going to the switches just disconnect it.

No, that'll do it. Once you've changed em you'll know right away if somethin isn't right. But take faith and fire that puppy up. If the pix is good you did good. If something is amiss. I'd be happy to walk you through it. My money is on you though.

I have a Mitsi WS-65807 65" Played Wii for about two hours. Lost sound then picture. Now it wont turn on. Just get a warped bluish screen with lines. Any Suggestions?

Well i need more info. have you tried unplugging the tv for around 60 seconds? Was the "warped bluish screen" right before it died. Or is this when you turn it on it happens?(Bluish screen)? Because if no power at all and no picture at all. Could be Power supply. If you have some sort of picture with blue lines that are stable? You have a convergence problem. Get back to me with info i can help.

It will cost between 30.00 - 70.00 dollars to do it yourself depending on if you buy the parts seperate or as kit.

HDTV Mitsubishi WS-55819 55 Inch Diamond Shield

You will need to contact a Mitsubishi Authorized repair facility. The entire electronics package must be removed and sent back in to Mitsubishi. The problem is the Formatter circuit board which is no longer available as a replacement part. The repair cost is very expensive and must be quoted by the facility you contact not me. Expect 4-6 weeks turnaround.
