You cannot turn off the ECO mode manually.

Intelligent ECO mode (select models)
Power consumption is automatically reduced when the handset is close to the base unit for extended talk time. Battery life on Talk is up to 13 hours when in ECO mode.

SOURCE: This is really silly, but

HOLD DOWN the "M" key which is the "*" key in the bottom left for 3 seconds until you hear a beep.  Repeat if you want mute again.

SOURCE: KX-TG6071M 5.8 GHz talking caller id not working

Hi trinigirl, You should not have to do anything to make the caller id information come through. There is no programming to perform for the regular caller id identification on your display after the second ring (it takes at least one ring cycle for the digital information to pass through). Your model also has the talking caller id function, which will announce in English the callers name or a custom name you can prepare in the phone book of handset number 1. With all that said, you are not getting caller id showing after the second ring, then your phone is bad (which is pretty rare for this symptom), or your phone line still does not have caller id activated. To troubleshoot your problem you need another phone line with working caller id and/or a different phone that is known good to pass caller id. That way you can interchange the phones/lines to see if it is your line or your phone. My guess it is your line somehow, though I have fixed phones that won't pass caller id, but rarely. If it is your phone, try rebooting it, thats about all you can do short of sending it in for repair. Let me know how it goes. CG

SOURCE: My phone is a panasonic

Try unplugging all units from the AC outlets as well as the phone connection. Leave disconnected for a few minutes. Re-connect all units and try calling out or have someone call in. this should correct the problem.

How to turn up volume on cordless phone

On many Panasonic cordless phones the large center button (either black or silver) has 4 small arrows. By depressing either the upper or lower portion of the button should control the volume.

Callers cannot hear me with one handset

Try them in intercom mode. If the flaky unit still does not work, the something along the microphone circuitry is likely dead. If its in warranty, get a replacement from the store or manufacturer.

Ear piece not functioning

Yes that is a problem I see, but to be very candid it should not be related to the battery replacement, and more from getting bumped around. Did you happen to move? Nevertheless, it is usually from an internal component failure or solder break inside the phone (unless your volume is turned down, but even at the lowest level its audible). Did you happen to use a headset? Sometimes excessive tension from the headset cable will break the receive circuit you could check the solder joints. But to be candid, it sounds as if you need to send it in for repair. You can find some options by googling ... Panasonic cordless telephone repair. The kx-tc1484b is a nice phone, good range, and normally very durable, certainly worth fixing.

Caller cannot hear me talk!

Hi Stephen,

Sorry for the belated reply.

You have a common "symptom", but it comes from everything from a cracks to bad components in different places on the phone, normally from very light to heavy physical damage, and/or a bad component or two. Not really a user fix, so I recommend you google "panasonic cordless repair center" and you will find a repair facility. Regards, CG
