Iriver e100 2gb problem with the firmware upgrade

Hi i ta irever e100 2gb i did the update and the just appear a dont touch during firemeware upgrade. it doesnt work with any button.
the USN is not recognized and now i cant turn on and off .
what can i do?
cos i really really like this device.

    Exactly the same problem here, i tried the reset button on the side, it resets the device but the same screen appears on the second boot.

    I'm waiting for the battery finishes.

    Honestly, it's a real shame a company like I-River poduces a so bad support page. Don't even talk about the
    website all in FLASH!

    Finally, i'm fed up of foreign products, it's not so cheap at the end!

    could somebody help me please? A "Do not touch during firmware upgrade." screen appears and i don't know what to do...btw I have iRiver e100 8gb. I would much appreciate if somebody could help me.

    I literally just got this an hour ago and it is still doing this firmware upgrade screen and not upgrading at all. I have the 8gb version.

    E100 screen locked on "Do not touch during firmware upgrade" - computer does not recognise the device. No change after resetting!! Will not turn off or respond to any commands.

    Very annoying!!

    When I put a 8GB micro memroy into the related slot, the Iriver does not work. would you please help that how I can solve this problem.

    the recording quality is not good. there are a lot of hizzing sound in the background. I was told by upgrading the firmware will work, but irive.dom is down.

    I have exactly the same problem. I pluuged my E100 in to the pc, tried to upgrade through the software, and now it permanently says "do not touch during firmware upgrade" I can't switch it on or off or do anything. I've tried updating it again, allowing the battery to run flat then swithching it back on, and then of coure resetting it and nothgon works. There is no help on the iriver website either.

    I have the same problem. I spoke to iriver and they said they will more than likely have to replace the mp3 player, hopefully yours is still under warranty as well.

    my iriverE100 IPOD HAD GOT STRUCKED WHEN IT WAS ON AND NO BUTTON IS WORKING NOW and it got strucked when i was opening it to see vedio and iy had strucked there on ly wat si should do now

Go to Iriver.com international site.
down load file :
I can't upgrade New Firmware of E100 (For firmware 1.05)
Should take less 30 sec.
And Use with Iriver plus and do the another update.
Shuold take less 30 sed for version 1.22.

Works after spend long hours.
Iriver is good, there is sleep timer, good video quality plus samll speaker to.

Hi Guys,

For whats it's worth I had the same problem. I found that if you lock the devise and the press the reset button a lock symbol will appear and the device will shut down. Then you can restart it again.

My problems started when I replaced my 2Gb SanDisK card with a 4GbSDHC SanDisk card. I think it may be something to do with the Firmware Revision as I an using FirmWare Ver 1.16 and I know of another unit working fine with the same card but using FirmWare Ver 1.07

The only thing that you can do is reset it. (left side pinhole). Then you go back to the store and there they will replace it if the warrenty is still valid. I had the same problem.

I had the same problem. Problem was "solved" by returning player to the supplier and getting a replacement. It was under warranty thankfully.

Hey.. i think i know how to fix your problems.. i had the same problem too.. i just bought my e100 yesterday and had a problem updating it.. first update your e100 to version 1.10.. here's the link Freeware Updater .. after that, update it to the latest (i think) v1.13 by using iriver plus 3.. and presto (maybe).. it worked on my iriver e100..

Just find something thin enough that can fit through the "Reset" whole on the side and that should solve the problem

Upgrade Iriver h10 20gb with V2.51firmware

Go here:
http://www.iriver.com/index.asp?code=0302
...and search for H10; look for the correct configuration for your unit in the small-font listing under [MTP] H10 5GB/6GB/20GB Firmware V2.51 - US & EU (which is probably H10_20GC_ENG_MT.ZIP if you're in the US).
Then search the site for Firmware Updater. Dowload it, unzip it, and run iriver Firmware Updater Setup.exe. Follow the steps on the screen. You might lose your data and have to reload all of it back onto the player, though. Good luck!

My iriver froze during the firmware upgrade process.

the firmware before must of corrupted and has made unreadable and undeletable an thats why it has froze during the firmware upgrade process

IRiver H10 20GB

Try this link to get the latest firmare upgrade for your device and if you dont have the latest windows media player install in your computer..you need to upgrade it so it can install the device driver for you..
the link for the firmware upgrade is

System files missing

I fixed this problem for my mate, here's what I did:

1) plugged in H10 to pc that didn't have any iriver software on it
a) I've read if you press the "o" button on the iRiver H10 when connecting it will just connect as a usb mass storage device
2) the H10 now appears as a mass storage device
3) right click on the drive, and select format ( I choose quick format)
4) install the iRiverFirmware updater from http://iriveramerica.com/support/mtpupdate/
5) when you run the updater, it found the H10, then asked if the device was from USA or Europe, mine was from Europe
6) It stated that the iRiver firmware was v0.0, and would install v2.51 (I've seen v2.53 available on the european iriver website but could not download it).
7) proceed with installing the updated firmware
8) on the last screen it says, unplug to complete firmware update - NOTE press Finish first before unplugging
9) switching on the iRiver it 'rebooted' a few times and then when the menu appeared, I connected to the pc and just dropped some mp3 files into the music directory and all was okay.

My iriver T10 is not being detected

That happend to me and i found a solution. First go to my computer and on your left click on VIEW SYSTEM INFORMATION then go to HARDWARE now click in DEVICE MANAGER it should say T10 around there look for T10 or IRIVER T10 and click on it press in UPDATE THIS TIME ONLY or an option you like and click next then click on the RECOMENDED OPTION to install the iriver t10 after you do that a magnifying glass should appear and wait and it would install saying MTP.
