Homeline 100 amp service panel wiring diagram

I checked my code sheet, and only the ground bus is to be bonded to the box. The box comes with a screw that will bond the bus to the box through a bus mounting hole, the threaded hole is down there, behind the bus. The neutral does not get bonded to the box.

NO! The main breaker in each box matches the components of that box. Although it might fit, you are looking at a major code violation and possible fire danger. Which if you wanted to sell it later, could give you problems even if it did work and you didn't get have a fire.
Each circuit breaker box it rated to an amperage level and the main breaker is sized for that rating. Find the box tag and check what it is rated at.

Its probably not a bad idea. Thats alot for a 100A panel to handle, a range needs a 50A, a water heater needs 30A, and the heat will need a 50A or a 60A breaker... Plus whatever else is in the house will be a bit more than the 100A service can handle. But if you don't have the money it will do for a while because for the most part they won't all be pulling at the same time. Word to the wise get at least a 30 space panel when you upgrade, I always install a 40 space panel because for the cost difference its well worth it for future needs because you'll fill it up quicker than you think and you'll have space for anything else you may want to add later on. You didn't indicate what the problem was. If you're connecting a GFCI breaker, you connect the white lead on the breaker to the neutral bar. You connect the white wire going to the load to the terminal next to that white wire. You connect your black wire to the load to the other ternminal on the breaker. The instructions should be on the box.

I'm assuming since it's a Homeline panel you're using a HOM2100 breaker. If it stripping then you must have a short circuit in your 100A circuit, or the breaker is defective. Disconnect your load from the breaker, and turn main on. Be sure you have the correct load conductors connected to the breakers. Typically red and black on the breaker, white on neutral bar. Bare to ground bar

First the part number QOC20U100F is a flush mount panel cover. The panel you have is most likely a :QO116M100. No you cannot replace the breaker as the bus in the panel is only rated for 100A. In addition I believe this is a 20CKT panel. If you're gonig to a 200A service you'd probably want more spaces than that. Home Depot and Lowes both carry 200A panels with starter set of breakers at reasonable price. The QO panels are a bit better than the Homeline

What you are wanting is an Outdoor Disconnect Switch- 100 AMP, but this panel is an example of what to look for,

Yes the maximum size branch circuit breaker that will fit in a residential load center is 100 amps. I would recommend that you calculate the amount of power that you need the sub panel to handle, then add any additional loads you may need in the future. Hopefully this is less than 100 amps. I would recommend that you check with your local electrical inspector to make sure your installation meets all local and national codes before proceeding with the install.
