CD Changer spinning continually

I have this system, and recently our CD player started spinning continuously. It spins back and forth, and stops briefly almost as though it's trying to read a disc. The tray won't open. All the other sources work just fine.

I have the same exact problem with mine. what i did was manually pull open the cd deck, stop the disk carousel from spninning by holding it still, then push the deck closed. the cd deck will no longer work, but at least it stops spinning. the auxiliary works fine and so does the radio.

Sony CDP-C910 will no longer play cds or eject changer cartridge

Mine did the same thing. My player was primarily used in the garage and the cold weather may have caused my player to do the same thing. I just fixed my player. I removed the top cover and looked at the CD in the play position. In the upper right corner from the CD, you will see a spindle motor with a belt on it. Gently spin the motor back and forth carefully with your finger. I rotated it a half-spin in either direction, careful not to dislodge the belt. When I turned the player back on, the mechanism operated as it normally would and began playing the disc. I was able to eject and reinsert the magazine without any issues, solving the problem. Hopefully that will work for you.

My carousel continuously spins back and forth and won't stop. Help! Thank you.

This can be a nasty... I had one that did this. The cause was having put a bit of force on plastic tabs extending out the bottom panel.

These tabs pushed a part into a set of fins on the turret and broke two off. I had to reattach those as they go between a photo cell interrupter that counts and keeps track of where the turntable is. There is a single fin that registers the start and then it counts from there and looks to see if a disk is in the slot and remembers which slots are filled.

The normal intial cycle finds the single fin and then counts around to make the list of filled slots.

The turntable can be lifted out when the cover is removed and inspected for loss OR bending over of the fins. One can CAREFULLY glue bent ones back in place, making sure the glue doesn''t block mechanical movement.

Wurlitzer OMT, takeout arm continues to cycle all the time

There is a white bracket on the far side of the gripper arm which comes loose so it doesn't click the microswitch beneath it. To prove this press o the bracket when the arm is over the cd magazine and it will stop.

CD Player Tray Spins Continuously With or Without Disk

Yuo didnt mention if it was used or new,. If it was new I wouldnt mess with the unit and take it in under warranty, as there is no quicky fix for this one. Its going to turn out to be a problem with the disc motor servo circuit or the microprocessor. Good Luck
