Knowing a model number would help a small way. But, the general answer is, home entertainment systems with cinema device. The microphone jack is for calibration of speaker balance.

SOURCE: i cant get my samsung home cinema system to play through my t.v

I bought the optical audio cable ($15 WalMart) and use the Digital In on the DVD player to play the sound through the surround system and turned the TV speakers off. Works great! The optial audio has square ends and looks transparent with just one round shaped cable that goes from the TV to the back of the DVD player.

SOURCE: SAMSUNG HT-TZ212 home cinema kit comes up with protect

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please follow this procedure to reset the region code (or to make it region free).
Open tray and remove any disks in tray, then Close the tray. 1. Switch Off Player and Unplug from mains wait 30 seconds (this clears RAM) 2. Reconnect to mains 3. Turn on player with remote. 4. Press ENTER on remote. 5. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 9. Using keys on remote.if your player is already set to region 2 6. Press ENTER on remote. (The tray will open and player will power off and close tray.) 7. Switch on power from remote. 8. Player is now Region Free. Allows both region 1 & 2 DVD's to play.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
