You could first try resetting the valve clearances. The B & S Website should provide the settings as well as a manual.

If you have that much gas in your oil it's usually because the float valve in the carburator is stuck open. This allows gas to overfill the carb, it then goes to the cylinder and is thin enough to get by the rings and into the crankcase. It could be because there is something in the valve seat keeping it from closing or the float could be damaged.

Check your oil.

If it is overfilled, milky, or smells like gas. Your going to need to change that ASAP. It sounds like the float has stuck in the past or is still sticking, and it has flooded the crankcase with gas, which has mixed with the oil. And because it is overfilled it comes through the breather hose into the carb. This also explains the smoke most probably because the oil is spewing in the carb through the breather and being burned.

Honda gx620 on golf cart occasionally bogs down & blows enormous cloud of white smoke from exhaust.gas getting in oil also.runs great until this happens

What ussually causes white smoke to come out the exhaust is oil being sucked up in carb. Typical causes are too much oil in crank case or PVC valve. Or really bad piston rings

I have a huskee lt4200, engine is a 420cc OHV.

Check for gas contamination in the oil....if the oil itself it gas free....its likely a blown headgasket.

Getting fuel in oil on 19hp b&s motor. Cleaned carb and drained oil, fresh oil and started motor, motor ran for 3 or 4 minutes then had to use a little choke to keep running and then it started...

How long did it take to do this job..did you clean the the carb first...then the oil or vise versa...the reason I as is ma y if these motors are equipped with an electric valve on the carb that go bad or stuck allowing the gas to continue flowing after shut down eventually in the intake valves and into the crankcase...causing smoke and high crankcase pressure and out the carb and exhaust...no use changing it WILL happen again..the fix is simple put an inline gas shut off and shut it off if only shut down for minutes...happened to my 18 horse Briggs...just shut it off every time you turn the engine off..Hope this helps..good luck..

you will need to drain all the oil out and you will all so need to flush the fule clean the carb and that mayneed a carb kit you will need to replace the spark plug turn the motter over with the plug out that will blow the gas out and then put oil in it and a new plug allso replace the fule filter and start with new gas if want to know what made this hppen well the carb got some trash in it that let the nedel stick open and let gas run in to the crank case if you need to i can be reached at mowershop@live,com ive done this kinda work for 22 years and i see this all the time
