Hello,
I have a Frigidaire dryer, model number AEQ6000CES2, and my problem is that a lot of lint, and I mean a lot, seems to be getting past the screen and into the exhaust.
When I emptied a load today, there was barely any lint at all in the trap. However, if I remove the trap and remove two screws to take of other half of the lint trap area, there is a huge amount of lint that has made it behind the lint screen.
I emptied a softball sized amount of lint from behind the lint trap today when I took it apart. Also, the vent grill on the outside of my building has strands of lint coming out of it, telling me that lint is definately finding it's way into the exhaust.
Is there a known issue with this dryer for this problem? Is there a quick fix?
Hello,
Here is a link to an exploded view and parts list for your dryer. http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php
If you are certain that the filter is not compromised or damaged and is properly seated into the housing , you may have a problem with the housing itself whereby lint is getting into the blower thru a break in that housing.. I would examine that area for damage.. and make sure when you reinsert the filter, it is seated all the way down.. Hope this helps you... BTW: over time, it is not unusual for lint to build up in the duct since some of that lint is smaller than the filter media and will work its way thru.. If you are getting that degree of lint build up very quickly then you may have a problem as mentioned above..

Rick
Hello Vincent Jones, thank you for your inquiry!
From what you have described your clothing is getting snagged on the lint screen inside of your Frigidaire dryer. You may need to replace your lint screen and filter. I would make sure to check for any cracks or damages that could cause your clothes to get snagged. If you do not see any damage you may want to check the inside of the tub using an old towel or pair of hose to assure there is no internal damage. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt
