Same problem. It just goes to "Press the reset switch" as soon as you put a tape in. It works fine as a USB camera. I bought a new battery, but that wasn't the problem. I don't have an AC adapter, so I don't know if that would do anything different. Maybe someone who has the adapter could post that info. I saw on another board that someone suggested it might not be getting enough power. Same problem. It just goes to "Press the reset switch" as soon as you put a tape in. It works fine as a USB camera. What I'm quickly learning is that Panasonic is ****. What I'm quickly learning is that Panasonic is ****.
Same problem -- constantly getting the "Push the reset button switch". It sometimes works after I remove the battery and put it back on. Once I re-charged the battery and replaced it and it worked for awhile. This happens every time I switch tapes. Pretty random...Same problem -- constantly getting the "Push the reset button switch". i get this message every once in a while. when i start the camcorder with taping mode on (the red camera on the scroll wheel), it feels like the tape is trying to eject while the case is closed. its like a light push against my hand at the top of the camera. and then the message pops up. yea it is annoying and completely random.
it usually works when start it up in playback mode (the green play button the scroll wheel) and then put it in taping mode while its on. that's how i got mine to work, im not sure if it will work for you but its worth a try.

I've used this camera for 4 years without issue until this month. It started out with a couple random reset switch messages to full blown constant messages. Now I can't even get it to register that there's a tape in it for playback. Help!!!!
