Go to windows start menu and click on RUN. type in "msconfig'' without quotation marks and click enter. the computer will load the system configuration utility, on the general tab, select normal startup option, then click on the BOOT.INI tab the click on CHECK ALL BOOT PATHS,a dialog box will appear to tell you whether the windows boot directory is OK or not. if it displays that they are Okay, then there may be that a virus has affected those files. you ca also type in "sigverif" without quotation marks, on RUN to launch the windows file verification, click on start to check important windows files for their correct version. try restarting the computer. if your system still can boot, open the computer case to make sure that the hard drive, and RAM are connected correctly. if you still having problems, notify me.

Asus p5n-e sli will no longer stay on for more then a few seconds

You go to AVIRA dot com and download the boot tool, or go to BITDEFENDER and run an online scan, you don't put in a new HDD just because you had a virus, it sounds like you had a problem and thought it was a virus.

Read you manual, plug in the Sata drive into Sata 1.

Do you mean BIOS post, if you don't even see the BIOS post, check your monitor with another PC.

There is only one correct power switch pin, a , + and - pin, how can you switch, there is no such thing as switching.

Hi, my dell optiplex gx 150 was infected by multiple viruses so i decided to re-install xp booting from cd. after copying all the files from the cd and the pc restarts, its failing to continue installation...

1.You have a corrupted boot sector on your hard drive.
2.you will need to format the drive and then re-install the Operating System.
3. If you are not able to do this then a new hard drive is needed.
4. install a anti virus program after installing the operating system

My laptop wont start up. When I press the on button yellow lights come on and then turn red and then it shuts down. Why?

That would be of the following. There is no Operating system anymore on the hard drive to do a malware virus. Or also the motherboard needs to be replaced. Usually if there is a Orange/yellow light on the board inside, the motherboard needs replaced. Hope that helps you out. First try to reinstall windows from the CD, if doesn't let you boot from the CD ROM (F12) (F2) then it is the motherboard. Hope this helps you

Motherboard won't boot up

Hey there,

This causes if you havnt connected the power cable coming from th power button to proper jack or pin.

Check out the pin in which ur power button cable is inserted.

Does your system boot when u press the restart or shut down icon from ur windows (OS). If it is not letting ur system to boot then you've been attacked with the Worm viruses. These viruses dont let ur system to boot because they keep their process running untill ur power is off.

Gimme ur acknowladge by rating me.

Thanx.

Hi please help me with my acer 3003 wont boot

try to power up with power cord only and see if it works. If no lights turn on than your motherboard is dead. If it turns on and nothing happens make sure there is memory installed(RAM). If it turns on and you see windows screen than it shuts off than your operating system needs to be installed again. Also, you can try booting in safe mode by hitting f8 when you initially start your computer and see if it stays on and if it does you have a virus most likely. Good luck.

My system wont boot.. @ once..need many try to make it boot...

Hey there jolen 323. The issue may be related to your power supply failing, however that would be a pain to replace, so lets consider that video idea. If iyou have a video card, remove it and connect your monitor to the onboard video. If this is effective, replace your video card. Next check your motherboard capacitor to ensure you have not popped any. Normally they are flat on top. When they begin to peak or somtimes burst, there is your problem and may also be related to power supply issues, or poor memory configuration. Also ensure your ram is in good condition and the proper type for your board. If using more than 1 stick, try removing the one furthest from the CPU, and give a test start. the only thing left is to replace Power supply if you are confident in the board. Good Luck!
