Try to check first if theres an output voltage in the wall outlet. if there is, you have a completely inoperative (dead) set. this symptom is usually caused by a breakdown in the power supply circuit. in most modern receivers (transistorized and/or IC), it may also be caused by a breakdown in the horizontal deflection circuits (horizontal oscillator, pre-drive or drive circuits). this is because the supply voltages for the tuner, video intermidiate frequency (VIF), video amplifier, sound intermidiate frequency (SIF) and vertical output circuit are usually supplied by the horizontal output circuit. but again, if you are not inclined in this kind of job, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck!

Sony Bravia built in DVD player wont accept the discs - why is this?

Performing a power reset
1. Turn off the television.
2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
5. Turn on the television.
How to establish an HDMI connection between a TV and other device.
Follow the steps below if the HDMI® connection between your TV and other device is not working:
1. Make sure both the TV and other device are turned on.
2. While turned on, unplug the power cords for the TV and device from the electrical outlet.
3. Disconnect the HDMI cables from the TV and other product.
4. Wait 60 seconds.
5. While the HDMI cables are disconnected, plug the power cords back into the electrical outlet.
6. Turn on the TV.
7. Re-connect the HDMI cables.
8. Turn on the HDMI-connected product.

The TV should now detect the HDMI signal from the connected device and operate normally. If there is still a problem, disconnect the HDMI cable from both products and then reconnect it in the opposite direction. In some situations this has been reported to resolve connection issues.

Sony KDL 46HX820 turns on, then off and red light blinks four times.

Re: Bravia KDL46EX720. Red LED blinks 4 times and TV wont turn on. What is the problem?

Do a Power Reset.

1. Turn off the TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.

If the issue still persists after performing power reset, that may be an indication that the TV needs service. You may refer to this link to locate the nearest Sony authorized service center in your area.

Can't turn my tv on. Have been away for ten days and now tv wont turn on with either remote or using on/off buttton on the side of tv.

The only suggestion I would have is to double check your power to the TV meaning if its plugged in completely in the back of tv to the wall, and if to a power strip that the power strip is turned on. If all the above are done but not recieving power to the power strip make sure the surge or safety wasnt tripped. If its not tripped and no power check your main fuses and the fuse in the power strip.

TV will not turn on. Red light flashes 4 times

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

My akai lct3285ta wont turn on,the stand by light wont even come on

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Make sure the wall outlet is working and the TV is plugged in. Please also check that the remote has fully charged batteries in it. If still the problem persists then unplug the TV from the power out let and again plug it in after five minutes and try to use a different power socket.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Tv wont turn on

First reset the TV set by unplugging the AC cord for like 5 minutes. then plug it back on again, try turning on the TV, if it still dont turn on then I suspect a blown fuse or worse.
