After turning the tv on the colors are reddish and slow to conform to the normal color tones. i have a 36" toshiba flat screen tv

My first concern would be that, the picture tube is going bad. The problem you describe, tell me one of the color guns is shorting. In this case I would think the green gun is shorting. There are three color guns in the neck of the picture tube. They are red, green, and blue. Most of the time the green will short as it is powered heavily in most TVs. The next thing to check, is the small board connected to the picture tube. Look for any and all bad grounds on this CRT board. This is another big problem in all Tube type TVs. On this small board there will be three color output transistors, and resistors. These will many times run very hot and will create bad grounds over time. Check and resolder as necessary. If the CRT board does not fix your problem, replace the TV. Picture tubes are very expensive and will not be feasible for replacement. Search for a new TV. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

Hooked up my Wii to a new TV, Now color is bad

I suspect you have it hooked up wrong check, Color to color, this is what can make it green, if not that then ensure your format is ok either PAL or NTSC, check.

No Red color at all. The convergence feature does not work either. Lots of green and blue RCA Model D52W59

Red color gun has failed, which will make the picture over saturated with the other two colors(blue, green) the bad news is the three color guns need to be replace in a set(all at the same time) because if you only replace the red it will over saturate the older blue, green guns then your picture will be mostly red.Unfortunently in most cases it's not worth the investment, better off to purchase a new tv. Good luck !

No green color----all other colors seem fine and pic is clear and sharp.

The most likely cause is a bad (shorted or open) CRT driver transistor on the green CRT board. Also check the solder connections on the connector sockets for wires that get plugged into on the CRT boards (and check all the CRT boards; not just the green CRT Board).

The next most-likely cause is a bad green CRT. Try tapping (gently!) on the neck of the green CRT and see if you get any green flashing on the screen. If so, then you've got a bad green picture tube.

Note: I am assuming you are an electronic technician with at least basic knowledge of electronics, and that you know how to solder and test components like resistors, capacitors, diodes, and transistors. If not, you better defer this repair to someone more experienced.

Crt's

The quality of the color diminishes = greens aren't green, etc.
or one color may dominate = pix is mostly green.
or one or more colors are weak = pix is purple = no green.

As you see, it would be best for you to tell me what you observe
the tv doing or not doing......T.

Zenith 25" Color TV - Model A25A23W

Your problem is a bad connection on the CRT socket on the CRT driver board, a bad connection in the RGB driver supply from the video jungle IC or maybe even an intermittant Picture tube. the only way to tell would be to tap on the crt board while the sets playing with a non conductive insterment, and see if it changes. Now there is alot of HIGH VOLTAGE at this spot, so if you have no TV repoair experience Please stay safe and call in a pro to assist you. Good Luck Please dont forget to rate this thread.
