I have replaced the lamp in my TV and the green light is still blinking and still no picture
I opened the back of the TV and sure enough, the micro switch that the lamp ,when in place, was supposed to touch the blue connector to make the connection - they were not touching so I used some sticky tape to build it up to see if it solved the problem and it did !
It must be a red light flashing as the 50V500 has no green lights on it. Make sure that when you place the lamp cover back on that it is activting the micro switch behind it. Otherwise the set will assume the door is open and won't ignite the lamp. Otherwise the ballast could be the issue.

I replaced the lamp in my Hitachi 50v500 and the tv works for a short period of time and then shuts down. The first stage is the Temp indicator flashes. When you proceed to power up the TV the Lamp indicator activates and flashes. Not sure what the issue is anymore.
Any advice is appreciated.
