The heat you are feeling is from infrared photons. The type of photons that damages skin is mainly ultraviolet photons, which are much higher in energy than that of IR photons. Your skin may become pink from the heat but actual damage is unlikely at such lower energy for IR photons. In other words, you are not going to get a suntan. dont worry about it.
Ultra violet
radiation (from either the sun or from tanning beds) can cause skin cell
damage. That damage can lead to premature aging such as; wrinkles, brown spots,
lax skin etc. Tanning salons may tell you otherwise but tanning beds really can
mess up your skin.
: Yes.
People are very aware of the danger of UV rays on our skin etc but not everyone
realizes that our eyes are also at risk. If your eyes are overexposed to sun rays,
you might get a condition called photokeratitis. It's a bit like sunburn
of the eye and can cause:
-
Red
eyes
-
Gritty
feeling in the eyes
-
Extreme
sensitivity to light
-
Rarely
- long term damage
Rashes can be caused by allergic reactions to the skin or the shaving products you are using. If you believe this to be the case, try unscented products or products designed specifically for sensitive skin.
