1) tight all connector wires and clean
2) tight the ribbon cables from keypads.
3) Run the software calibration for diagnose, and troubleshooting, and fix it.
4) lube the shaft and gear in the elevation motor,

SOURCE: stop button, fan button, up incline button are not

If some buttons work, you more than likely have a key pad problem. Unfortunately Icon doesnt sell kep pad seperately. As a last effort, try heating up those buttons wit a blow dryer. This will work temp. sometimes.

SOURCE: the proform 980 turns on but just goes to incline

It is trying to its starting point I would suggest is to unplug the unit open the motor shroud unit. The shroud it has a mini manual this should have a calibration instructions that can be done and also upper electronics self test to see if the processor is functioning properly. It should give a better idea which to head. You can call Icon Fitness@ 1-800999-3756

# get a 12-18 volt dc battery fully charged(like one from a cordless drill)
# Make sure it is fully charged, because it won't work if not
# attach the + and - to the motor red is + and black is -
# If the motor turns slightly your motor is ok, if not the motor is bad and would need replaced
# if the motor is ok then your motor controller(the board with the metal) is malfunctioning and would need replaced.

Why does my Proform 650 LT beep at me and not work?

A power reset is the only help given. One article suggests a factory reset for 3 or 4 beeps.

Threadmill does not always start

There would be some problem in wiring harness between motor control board and control panel. Try to remove form both side an reconnect it

Sounds like the button on the panel is stuck somehow, I think this because when you switch the wires this would reverse the polarity to the incline motor.

can you tell if the panel is recognizing the pushing of the incline buttons, like with a beep or light or something? If it didn't seem like it's responding this may be because one button is constantly stuck down.

Hi,

I will advice you try re-calibrate your treadmill, follow the procedure below to re-calibrate it,

Step 1 Stand on the side rails of the treadmill for safety purposes. Remove the safety key. Step 2 Press and hold the two incline buttons. The incline buttons are blue and on the left side of the display. Hold the up and down button simultaneously. Release the buttons when the display reads "Calibration."
Step 3 Press the green start button located either above or below the large, red stop button (depending on your model). Stay on the side rails as the treadmill belt begins to move. Both the speed and incline should go through their full range from lowest to highest, and then back down again.
Step 4 Repeat the process if the display does not read "Calibration Successful."

  • Place a mat under your treadmill. You can buy a treadmill mat at any sporting goods store and most major discount stores such as Wal-Mart or Target. Treadmill mats are made of heavy-duty rubber or foam and are specifically designed to absorb the vibrations caused by the everyday use of a treadmill. Treadmill mats greatly reduce the noise caused when a person runs on a treadmill, and are especially helpful if you live in an apartment and have neighbors immediately below you.
  • 2 Tighten or replace the belt on your treadmill. A loose or worn belt will cause your treadmill to vibrate excessively. You can buy replacement belts at many sporting goods outlets or directly from your treadmill's manufacturer. Refer to your user's guide for instructions regarding how to tighten or replace the belt, as well as the size and type of replacement belt required by your treadmill.
  • 3 Secure all ancillary parts of your treadmill. Be sure that the rails, console and housing are in place and fastened tightly to the body of the treadmill. Tighten any loose screws or bolts

  • Additional: Level the machine with a good level 2) put a little oil to the shaft of incline motor c) to line up the incline motor

Proform 995 sel will not incline

    Try calibrating the incline.
Start the machine. While the machine is operating, press and hold the incline up button. Remove the safety key. Now replace the safety key. The treadmill should go to full incline, then back to the bottom. Once the cycle is complete, the machine should work normally.
