Benq S41 power suppl ''short"?

Thanks for your suggestion but I've tried the adapter connections and all is OK. The green light blinks regularly and I assumed that this indicates an overload. The problem occurred while I was using the laptop - there was a click from the area of the power supply unit (top left) and all went dead.
Any more suggestions welcome.

Thats what i suggested earlier, the AC adapter in the laptop has blown, thats what causing the feedback/overload. you can fix the problem yourself but it is a big job!!!
If you need the problem resolving straight away, then take it to be repaired, under warranty if its still covered by it!!
Sorry for the misunderstanding

Kind regards

I would suggest you reinstall using Windows XP because based on your pc specs, your computer will run faster on XP. You may also try Windows 7 because it doesn't require you to install specific drivers. It comes automatically installed when you install the OS.

Benq laptop power unit 'short'?

The fact that the LED light on the power supply tells me that its receiving power, look where the AC adapter goes and check the pin to see if it is loose, this sounds like feedback from the computer causing the power supply light to dim or go out

let me know how you get on

Internal power unit 'short'.

Ok its not the power supply, it the battery in the laptop which is defective. Remove the laptops battery and power on using AC power only, the PC should now boot and your problem will be solved (apart from the battery)

post back to let me know how you get on

BenQ FP767 17" Power but no display?

Different faults here.
First fault is no power, it is bad capacitors on the power board.

Second & third faults are the inverters. (power but no image visible, but feint if you shine a light into the screen)
Check the 4 transistors on the main power board for shorts.

If you are unsure what that means, then take it to your local TV technician, he should be able to solve it fairly cheaply.

Hope that helps.
