Dear budg,
Error code 5600 in S200 is No Print head Error indicator. In this case, the print head of the printer is faulty so that the printer cannot detect the print head. About the print out, please check if there is enough ink in ink tank to print. If there is enough ink to print, means this bad print out caused by the faulty print head. It seems that you to replace the print head.
Regards,

Further to above - Canon printers have separate ink tanks & heads .. this makes the replacement ink cheaper than the 'integrated' ink/head opposition HOWEVER if you turn off the 'low ink' warning (as you must to use replacement ink tanks or refills) you MUST visually check your ink levels before printing so as to be careful NEVER to let the ink run out ..

Why ? because the ink is used to cool the head jets .. no ink = burnt out heads ....

I have a brother laser printer that prints one page fine, but subsequent pages fade to nothing. any solutions?

That sounds like maybe a printer cartridge problem. Perhaps the ink flow is not working properly.

C935 PS3 colours work, but the black fades gradually down the page. No errors on printer, toner at 50%

sounds like you have an air leak into the ink supply system, specifically on the Black ink drive.

Copier appears to be functioning well, but page comes out blank

You actually answered your own question, you said it started fading and came out with lines missing. Looks like and could possibly be that the ink cartridge you are using wasn't as full as you thought it was, and the computer really has no idea, it's just software and i do not recall seeing sensors on the inside of the ink tank to tell the computer how much ink is in the cartridge. Try refilling the ink again or maybe a better idea is to buy a new cartridge since over time the cartridges can get contaminants in them which will block the ink from the inside of the cartridge.
Hope this helps

Lexmark z640 has stopped printing - goes through the motions but no ink on page

Some third party cartridges will not work with your printer as they are remanufactured from used cartridges.
It is more expensive to buy genuine Lexmark ink, but atleast you know it will work.
You may try reinstalling the driver before buying new ink.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.

Faded print on one side of page

I have a SCX-4100 Samsung, replaced the tonger cartridge, it was working fine for a few hundred sheets of printing, but after that, the left side of the page was printed very light, faded.
If I run the "Clean Drum", it will print a litter better, but still faded.
What can I do to correct this problem?
Thank you

Deteriorating Print Quality

This is Maltesecross. Turns out that the faintness of my printed pages was in fact due to a low ink cartridge, even though some pages printed out fine and others half-good. Eventually, all pages turned faint, and upon re-installing the driver, I got a low-ink warning (the first one ever). Putting in a new ink cartridge solved the problem for me.
