R99 on the Sunfire True Sub Junior is a surface mount resistor (no color bands), and measures 51k ohms. R102 near it is colored gray, red, brown, gold.

Yes, that is true, R99 is 513 which is 51K, and if anyone's interested, R102=820 ohms and R107=1.2K (both are 1/2 watt).

SOURCE: Rattling sound with any significant base output

You either ripped your voice coil, or you have something jumping around inside (Screw, nail, etc.). You can tell of a blown speaker by pressing straight in, and if you hear a rubbing noise, then your speaker has disconnected from your voice coil. Mickey mouse jobs include Krazy Glue, but It's touch and go

SOURCE: It seems my Sunfire True Sub sig needs repair, but how to do it?

Capacitors either fail spectacularly or in a very subtle way. Every once in a while, they'll explode, in which case it's very easy to spot the one that needs to be replaced, but generally they fail internally, with no visible problems.
(very old units used a wet electrolyte, and the capacitors simply dried out inside)

If you are able to determine which cap is bad, you will definitely need soldering skills to replace it - no way around that.

Soldering isn't difficult to learn, but I can't help you over the internet. :) If there's a craigslist in your area, you might try posting to the "Wanted" section to see if someone can teach you how.

Best of luck to y

Own a Sunfire True Sub MKII, light on but no bass, when volume on all the way it barely hits. Fuses appear to be ok.Circuit board looked ok I dint notice any blown caps or miscolored resistors. Help?

Start with the volume way down on the sub.

Connect the line out of a source you know is working with cables you know work to the inputs of the sub. Try left and right.

This will let you know if the problem is in the sub or the output you're trying to use.

I am the proud owner of a SUNFIRE TRUE SUB SIGNITURE SUBWOOFER. THE ACTIVE 12" DRIVER. Has a torn rubber surround. I was surprised that sunfire neither services or provides parts for this $2500...

you can go to a hardware store and silicone caulk that is black, make sure it is flexible type. clean surface with rubbing alcohol and a cue tip to prep surface area well, allow alcohol to dry, apply silicone front and back of cone evenly bout 16th inch thick and let dry for full cure time on directions of silicone caulk tube. sub will work awesome. ive done this on many car subs of high amps and never had it fail. hope this helps you alot, i understand how it feels

My sunfire subwoofer starts making humm noise after a couple minutes while listening music,,, I have to disconnect and connect back, is something that involves equipmenrt adjustment?....thanks

Try plugging the unit into a clean power supply without anything else on it. I had this problem for years and eventually resolved it by moving the system to a different room that has three power circuits - the sub is now on it's own circuit and I don't have the problem anymore.
