Heat turns off while clothes still wet

My gas Kenmore Elite HE5 dryer runs fine and the flame comes on when the cycle starts and it gets hot. But the heat shuts off long before the clothes are dry, even though the dryer keeps running.

Change the gas coils on the gas valve by removing the 2 screws holding the bracket for the coils, remove the wire harnesses to each coil, dont worry one coil has 2 wires the other has 3 so quite hard to reverse

Testimonial: "This was exactly the problem. Unfortunately, I already paid the extra labor to have a repairman fix it, but it was worth it not to have to order parts (since I have 4 kids at home, every day without a working dryer made my wife's mood degrade further)."

Make sure that your vent tube is not kinked or crushed behind the dryer and it all this is ok then you need to change your cycling thermostat. is it gas or electric

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Sounds like your problem may be with the heating coil.
Remove the back of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistor.
Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape.
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor.
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST. This could cause a fire, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:
http://www.partselect.com/

Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
Hope this helps

You probably have a bad heat element. If you hold the door switch closed while you start the dryer, you should see it heating up glowing red,if not , thats it. The part isn't to tough to change just remove the back its to the right. Just three screws and pull it off. Be sure to have it unpluged while working on it. Good luck, rate me so I can improve my service.

I have a Kenmore elite he5 gas dryer and when it is turned on it will not spin. Can you tell me why?

If you hear a humming/clicking sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor.
Try this test out to see if u have weak windings or relay on motor.
Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings OTHER WISE CHECK FOR A LOOSE WORN BELT

No heat

make sure that the gas is turned on. if it is the next step is to check the fire chamber. it is a tube about 3in round. there is an igniter toward the front of the tube that when it calls for heat it glows bright red and then gas comes in the tube and it lights it up. if the igniter is not hot enough it will not light the gas. that means u need to replace the igniter.

No heat-Kenmore (Whirlpool) Elite He5 Steam 110.8775

Check that there is 240 volt at the plug as sometimes a breaker will be weak on one side and only produce 120 volts which will let the drum spin but produce no heat
