It seems that when I embrodiery that the my stitches are very loose on the top and sometimes the top color stitch isn't complete. Also it uses up a lot of the full bobbin. It didn't do this in the past. Can it be my needle that needs changing or how do I adjust the tension? It doesn't seem to be affected but is still on the setting "E".
Stop, remove all threading, clean machine,be sure to clean the top tenion disks with a thicker thread, change needle, rethread carefully and try a test swatch. If not working still, your tension could be out of adjustment. Adjust top tension until the top thread of your swatch balances with the bottom. Use two contrasting colors of thread so you can know which tension is wrong,
Remove bobbin and dangle by the thread, it should not move untill you jerk it and should drop about 3-4 inches. Adjust small screw until this works. Try another swatch.

In embroidery mode, you have to send a design to the machine before the bobbin winder will work.
SOURCE: Singer futura ce-200 problem, pattern mis-alignment
I have had similar problems in the past.
Do you hear a noise from the embroidery unit when the misalignment occurs ? If so, I suspect that your issue may be that you have some resistance under the hoop. Is there extra material that may be rubbing on the machine or catching somewhere. I have found that if I use some masking tape to keep all of the extra material from hitting any other parts of the machine or dragging under the edge of the hoop this error does not occur. FYI: I also stopped using the "optimize stitch speed" option at the same time. I believe that material dragging was causing the problem, but I still wonder about the stitch speed optimization feature.

this is a common problem, don't worry it's easy to fix. take the spool of thread off, remove the bobbin. look for any stray thread pieces in or around the bobbin case, rethread the top of the machine and when you do, follow the threading guide precisely and ---here's the trick---make certain that the thread goes between the tension discs.

I have the same issue. All of my embroidery designs look rough and rigid....and my tension is way off. HELP, or should we just take them back?
You should frequently change the needles (at least every project should begin with a new needle--if a large project like a quilt, then probably several needles). Dull, damaged needles cause more sewing problems than probably any other issue. A new needle costs only cents, so don't be frivolous when it comes to using needles.
