The sound went out on my Akai LCD tv. When it went out it was popping and the screen was distorted. The screen is working fine but no sound. How can I fix this?
Thanks
You need to inspect the board, most of the time you can trace the problem according to a deformed component.... bulged capacitor, burnt component (black dust on component and board) or if it's an IC crack or chipped ...

There no lamp for the LCD tv.Only have LCD inverter backlight board for light for picture. This problems usally have sound, but no pictture. It that ur problems? It a long board in shape.Tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy refurbish board.
We need to verify if the problem is in the preamp or poweramp sections. Hook up the powered PC speakers to the AUDIO Line out RCA jacks and verify that sound is OK there, if it is OK, The problem will be in the power amp sections that drive the speakers. If it sounds bad at the RCA jacks, the problem will be in the sound processor board which mean the main board will have to be replaced, same if the power amp is bad.
