After about an ahour and a half, the furnace is shutting itself off and the only way to get it back on is to go to the furnace and flip a switch that is connected to a 30 amp breaker (which contains a fuse but the fuse is not blown out) . I thought the furnace was tripping the breaker sine flipping the breaker switch from on to off to on again is the only way to get the furnace back on. My service repaiman cannot figure it out- thinks it may be the circuit board- does this sound right or could it be the blower motor? Once it turns itself off, there is a switch on the furnace and the repairman said I could just flip that switch but that did not turn the furnace back on. I have to turn the switch on the box that contains the fuse from on to off to on again.I thought the furnace was tripping it off but it isn't It started the other night, I heard a loud noise from the furnace like a bang and the furnace went out after that. Any odeas?
There is a thermo-sensor switch next to the circuit board that tells the fan switch to turn on when the plenum is hot enough. this needs to be replaced.

When you are switching the breaker on and off you are reseting the furnace and it will start the heating cycle again. It sounds like your blower motor is not working so the furnace heats up but because the fan never kicks in the furnace is overheating and shutting off. sit by your furnace while it is on and see if you can hear the motor? if you cant hear the motor but the burners are on then you most likely need a new motor. please note that it is normal when the burners first kick in there will run for a couple of mins before turning the fan on. If the furnace is belt driven then you might need new bearing or belt. give me the name and year of the furnace and i should be able to help more.

Your HVAC system turning off and on all the time might be a sign that it needs to be repaired. I would look into getting someone to take a look at it and see if it can be repaired. If not, then you might want to consider getting your furnace replaced.
