SOURCE: valve adjustment

You need to replace the flapper and you will need to purchase one specifically for the Kohler toilet. I have the same toilet and tried using a generic flapper and from experiance, it didn't work until I bought the correct one and I'm a plumber! Have a great night.

SOURCE: Running toilet

Mine does that also, here's what I found.; I am on a well and occasionaly sand gets caught in the valve thingy... Take the tank lid off, turn the arm that attaches to the float assy. 1/4 turn towards the back of the tank and take it out. Rinse off the gasket and pin as well as inside the hole. Reassemble and it should solve your problem.

SOURCE: Kohler 1-piece flush valve seal replacement.

That is a tricky one. Tighten the tabs, twist into place, then tighten a bit more. They are a pain in the a$$, but with patience you will get it done. Good luck

I repaied one of these laast week and it had the Plastic nuts in between the webbing on the seat where the lid connects I believe You remove the plastic cap with a knife and use a flat tip screw driver to remove the screws and replace the seat.

replace the flapper with a new one. There are universal flappers at your local home store that will work for you.

Leaking water into toilet bowl, no authorised dealers seem to stock the flapper

This link will help you

http://kohler.dirxion.com/toiletserviceparts

The flapper is not proprietary to this unit an after market flapper will work as good and in most cases better. The flappers offered but Fluid Master are in my opinion the best out there. Remove the flapper and match it up with one offered but them, install it and you will be good to go.
The problem with getting the stock part is that the toilet your working on was discontinued so time ago and unless you are ready to give up your 3.5 gallon flush toilet keep fixing it as long as you can.

How to disconnect flapper on kohler k3386DA

You just need to slide the arms of the flapper while rotating away and upwards off the bars; the arms are flexible so they pull away quite easily.

There are some illustrated installation instructions on the Kohler site that may be helpful.

I just installed a kohler toilet fresh from the crate. The fill valve runs every few seconds for just a few seconds. I suspect a leak but can't find any water drops in or around the toilet. Can you...

possibly the flapper valve not seating properly..

open lid of tank, check if chain to flapper is too tight, then check if something blocking flapper from seating properly

Kohler two peice toilet the water just circles and will not flush.there is plenty of water in holding tank that run through

These models need to have a flush valve flapper that has a styrofoam float on the lift chaninof the flapper. Go to hardware store or home improvement store and get a 'Korky brand toilet tank flapper with float 'ball". Cut the rubber ring piece away from the flapper and you don't need it (see cut here marks on flapper). Install flapper and adjust the float fairly close to the flapper.
When the water level drops in the tank and reaches the level of the float on the opne flapper, the flapper quickly closes causing the toilet to have a "surge" of siphon action which forces the water in the bowl to be drawn out.
