LG Microwave Oven LMV2053SW

This is an over the range model and the under the microwave light flickers on and off even though the light touch pad is off. One can hear crackling/shorting when the light flickers on. The light touch pad has a high, low, and off setting, and the flickering occurs in the low and off settings. Probably also occuring in the high setting but not decernable. What is the cause? How do I access the control board--need instructions on removing the face plate to check on wire connections?

Our lg stainless steel overthe range microwave oven will not start. When pressing start only says power 100

The touch pad could be the problem. Touch pads are notorious for going bade. the door interlock switches could also be a problem. Check to see if all the pads work if they do it could be just the start pad that is bad.

Unlockmy lg microwave oven

As with most situations, it depends on the model number, but try this:

To set child lock:

1. Touch STOP/CLEAR pad.

2. Touch and hold 0 pad more than 4 seconds. LOCKED will appear in the display window and oven will beep twice.

To cancel child lock:

1. Touch and hold 0 pad for more than 4 seconds. LOCKED will disappear from the display and the oven will beep twice.

Touch pad

microwaves are really not cost efficient to repair. It's cheaper to buy a new one. Sears has comparable to your model starting at $70, walmart $60. :)

66993 pizza oven microwave oven combo pizza oven not heating error code f1 microwave part works

Hello, please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacement of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal check sum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Thanks

Touch-pads unresponsive

Some newer models have a child lock feature which can be accessed via a HELP or CUSTOM HELP pad. On recent LG models, try pressing the "0" key for 5 seconds. You may also have a bad keypad, which in many cases can be replaced. A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated. Has anyone ever sprayed cleaner directly on the keypad? Has anyone ever boiled on the stovetop without running the hood vent fan? Is the hood vent clogged? Any of these can cause moisture buildup on the control circuit board or in the keypad, which can cause odd problems like this. I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller. Apply an alcohol-based cleaner (such as the purple kind) to a cloth (since paper towels can scratch) and gently wipe it off. I suggest to my customers that they NEVER use any ammonia-based cleaner (like the blue stuff) on a microwave, since the ammonia will crack and distort polycarbonate plastics.
