Had a real bad oil leak and had a friend perform the repairs, he replaced the crank seal and the case gasket. Finally got time to mow and noticed that when I push the throttle lever to "high" the engine is running faster than it used to, seems like 1/4 throttle is about the right RPM. When I engage the deck to mow the engine speed drops quite low and even if I push the throttle all the way up to high the blades do not seem to spin as fast as they should. If I disengage the deck with the throttle on high the engine suddenly starts to over rev and i have to adjust the throttle back down. I was wondering if there was an adjustment or something with the governor that I could double check instead of taking the mower back to him. Thanks for the advice!
SOURCE: Knocking in mower deck or belt clutch when engaging blades, motor bogs / slows down
YOU MAY HAVE A BENT BLADE OR EXESSEIVE BUILD UP UNDER THE DECK
