2008 Husqvarna LGT2654 Idles high and bogs with deck engaged

Had a real bad oil leak and had a friend perform the repairs, he replaced the crank seal and the case gasket. Finally got time to mow and noticed that when I push the throttle lever to "high" the engine is running faster than it used to, seems like 1/4 throttle is about the right RPM. When I engage the deck to mow the engine speed drops quite low and even if I push the throttle all the way up to high the blades do not seem to spin as fast as they should. If I disengage the deck with the throttle on high the engine suddenly starts to over rev and i have to adjust the throttle back down. I was wondering if there was an adjustment or something with the governor that I could double check instead of taking the mower back to him. Thanks for the advice!

Hi, basically the bottom case will have to come off the motor again as your friend has failed to correctly position the governor gear against the governor arm, sorry Phil.

Testimonial: "Alright I was afraid that it would have to come apart again, thank you! "

SOURCE: Knocking in mower deck or belt clutch when engaging blades, motor bogs / slows down

YOU MAY HAVE A BENT BLADE OR EXESSEIVE BUILD UP UNDER THE DECK

Governor,carb problem

Sounds like the linkage spring is not working correctly or was never replaced during rebuild. I would replace that spring as a starting point.

Why won't husqvarna z4217 starter engage after replacing the battery and solenoid

The starter itself may be bad. Are you getting 12 volts to the starter? Does the solenoid "click" when turning the key.

I have a Husqvarna GT 2548 riding mower with a 25 hp Kohler eng. Engine ides fine but bogs down when blades are engaged.(really bad if I am trying to go uphill even at a small incline . I changed plugs...

Hi, It sounds like a lack of fuel supply when it is required. When it idles, the demand is sufficient for this, as soon as a demand is required, there is a lack of fuel supply to meet the demand.
Is the fuel old? if it is, you need to drain it and put fresh in. You say it's sat a long time. It's possible that fine particles of metal has built up in the tank and passing up to the carb. You will need to strip down the carb and check to make sure there is no sediment in the float chamber, that the floats are not sticking, and the jets are clear.

I hope this is of use.

No engine power with deck engaged

Make sure the deck turns freely and there is no large build up of rubbish under the deck to create a drag, if all is ok, it could well be a fuel starvation issue, if it has an in line fuel filter chage it, if it has a fuel pump check its function by removing the hose from the carb and cranking the engine ( there should be a good flow of fuel from the hose )
