I have a motorola h500 blue tooth headset which i bought to work on my computer. it's a dell M1330 with windows vista business. first i got the headset to connect and it worked for 6min on skype before it would crash and restart my computer

It seems your laptop Bluetooth could be 1.1 version and headphones are 2.1 it won't work. I would suggest wired headset or get a 2.1 the difference is 1.1 doesn't not allow high quality sound 2.1 does allow stereo sound. here is a sample IOGear USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter GBU421

I have the same problem with my XPSM1330 and Vista business. My Plantronics 925 causes the computer to crash. I contacted Dell and spent hours on the phone with their techs, who are unable to resolve the problem.
