SOURCE: RCA audio system, and three disc.
I always encountered that kind of problem, the audio works but discs player not working. This kind of a problem of a disc player had three causes, first the lense is busted already secondly the MPEG MEMORY IC is busted, thirdly the roller that's moving back and port bringing the lense set stock up full of dirt this is most common problem. That why whateveryou did is not functioning. If you know how to open your unit it's better. First you do is to clean the roller with the use of a lighter fluid to take the old greases that already harden with dirt. After that all is clean put a first class greases type-A only little to the roller and wipe the lense with a cotton buds. If all this procedure nothings happens, you better change the lense with desame code number, to avoid conflict. If the lense is change still not functioning that's the time you change the MPEG memory IC.I assure it to you it's works 100%.

I assume that the problem occurs on the cd player. If this problem occurs only at this cd it's a disk problem. If it occurs on various disks try using a cd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alcohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. This way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush". In case you can, use a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol to clean up the cd lens manually. In case this doesn’t solve your problem, the cd player needs laser lens replacement by a technician.

SOURCE: I HAVE AN AVR 8000
hi,
Can you give me some clarifications. You have mentioned only that none of your speakers working. You didn't mentioned any thing about which device is connected to the avr 8000 and to? . Is it was working propely before or its new one?.
Also Need information Which device is connected to which input of the AVR. Also how many speakers are you connected to the AVR. Is there is any sound in AM/FM option. Did you hear the test noice cycling through all the speakers when you press the Test button on the remote. One more thing Before pressing any button on the remote You have to press the AVR button on the to left side of the remote. Then only you will be able to enter in to AVR menu.
