I have an LG LCD 55LH40 tv where the screen went black. My directv was doing some kind of reboot because we had a power outage, bad weather, and it restarted and the tv was on and the screen said the

Black screen, no picture only sound!

Good day..

that problem is cause of bad inverter board or T-con board..

If you have backlight the problem is T-con board..if no back light the problem is inverter board..

I had the same exact problem as posted above. My 50" LG plasma was out of warranty for 1 year! I called the LG executive call center, and they were very helpful. They offered to pay for the parts and labor. They recommended a few local repair shops, and they set everything up for me. The tech came out within 4 days with one part. The tech had to come out one more time the following week, since more parts were needed for the repair. The Y sustain board, along with 2 adjacent parts that are required to be replaced as a set, and the power supply had to be replaced (parts alone cost just over $900). TV is like new again; I'm very happy with how LG handled it, and made what could have been a bad experience a good one.

This sounds like a mainboard problem. Unless you do not see a back light flash when you turn on the TV, which may mean it is an inverter board problem, this is most likely fixable by replacing the mainboard.

check your standby voltage and make sure it is coming up standbys come from the power supply board and if they are present your main board is bad or the main power supply is not working

There are some semiconductors or capacitors that are leaky. Might need thorough check up inside the TV.

LG 55lh40 tv will not turn on. I REPLACED THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK. THE STAND BY LIGHT IS RED. WHEN I PUSH THE POWER BUTTON IT MOVES FROM CENTER TO THE OUTSIDE AND BACK TWICE...

Only a probe with a voltage trace can figure to the possible SHORT in the circuit board. You need to look for possible signs of heating which can be an indicator to a short . Also check for the secondary +B to the circuit, check the path that leads to the drive and see if there is high potential drop, if so check the drop to get an idea of the short. The list of probabilities can be more and so ONLY a good voltage check can pinpoint the case. Take consensus but do not replace board at high cost with just assumptions.

90% to 95% ur tv have a dead power supply board only.5% ur tv could have both dead boards the tv power supply board and the main tv Tuner signal board too.The tv power supply board.That the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.The tv main Tuner signal board,that the board where all the exstented devices and the tv incomming broadcasting signal cable wire plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement first.The tv problems should be fixed.If not than the main tv Tuner signal board is dead too.Must be replaced also.
