I have downloaded music into my eclipse mp3 player. Media player said all files were synced. No matter what I do the player reads "no files".

You have to follow both steps on the instruction manual. When you first plug it into your computer it prompts you to name it. Then sync the music files off of Windows Media player..then you must do the second part where it explains about copying and pasting the music to it..this link opens the pdf manual that explains it just like the directions that came with it. http://www.eclipsemp3.com/CLD2manual.pdf

I think people are getting confused and thinking that step is only suppose to be used if they can't sync it ..but you actually have to do that part too or the files won't go onto the MP3 player.

How do I set it to play random songs?

While a file is playing you can enter the Music Submenu by pressing the “M” button briefly. The Music Submenu allows you to adjust your repeat mode, amongst other things.

The Repeat Menu allows you to set your repeat mode. Choose from Normal, Repeat One, Folder, Repeat folder, Repeat all, Random, and Intro.

Choose Random.

Here is an online version of the manual, incase you have any other problems you want to read about. http://www.eclipsemp3.com/CLD2manual.pdf
