weight the boat and trailer on a truck scale, then go back without the boat on the trailer and weight it. Sometimes you can find a base weight for the trailer on a manufacturers website.

check for a earth connection in both the socket and plug

only assume your female friend can drive. stage your boat at ramp you get in boat, she backs down into water, you drive boat off trailer. if she has trouble driving with trailer then you dock up boat and go park. OR you could let her handle the boat. just repeat process to load.

If the engine runs ok and is not ticking try replacing the oil pressure sensor.

Float on style trailers are designed with immersions depths and vertical guides to allow the boat to be driven onto the trailer.
