It is definitely possible, it's just finding one that'll be the problem.

Turns on but cannot see anything

Hello, there could be a number of problems but 90% of the problems with these Russian manufactured monoculars, binoculars, scopes is the the image intensifier tube. First they are cheaply made, they don't taken much abuse, and if any bright light such as, street lights, car lights, turn on the NV monoculars during the day light hours could and would total damage these Russian manufactured tubes.

I hate to tell you but there is a good possibility that the image intensifier tube is bad, sorry. Night Owl Optic and many other US companies use cheap Russian manufactured night vision devise to sell; of course, they make a huge profit on these NV devises.

There are a lot of countries in the world that manufacture NV monoculars and other NV devises. Some are good and most are just slap together.

If you want a good night vision monocular be prepared to pay top $$$ for them.
Made in the USA, Europe, England, and even in China.

List it on eBay as Night Vision Monocular and under condition: broken for parts.
I wish you luck. GB...stewbison

The monocular wont focus but the lens look fine

Hello, the eye piece on the monocular will unscrew. Remove it then look throught the focus and see if you can see throught it. Also, check the output of the image intensifier tube. There will a 18mm white film plate witha clearn class cover. Now if there is any type of streaking on the inside of this image tube. The the image tube is on it way out. GB...stewbison

The illuminator is not working, what do you think might be the problem. Thank You Ken

Hello, what illuminator are you referring to here. The image intensifier tube, or the IR illuminator?

I am suspecting it the those Russian manufacture image intensifier tubes I am also accusing them....Russian NV manufactured of installing electronic destruction timer in the their image tube.

I fairly sure that you Famous Trails FT1200 NV Monocular is about five years old. Five years is the average on the image intensifier tube life span.

I have a few extra Green Russian Image tubes there not new but the will work but for how long---who knows...

I would call Famous Trails NV Optic company and see what they will to charge to fix you FT1200 monocular. There good possibility they will tell you that they can't repair you FT1200. But they will take it for a trading on a new model (made in Russia) for a few---hundred dollars more.

If you fill like not do this then auction it on eBay. I need some parts or if you want it fix then send it to me. [email protected] That my email. What ever you do I wish you lots of luck in your endeavors. GB...stewbison

Didn't used 1 1/2yrears woudn't turn on

Hello, sorry that you moncular will not turn on. It seems that these Russian manufactured monocular, binoculars, scopes have really cheap intensifier tube in them. They just wake up then die. It's cost prohibitive to have it repaired because Night Owl will not sell parts for NV devises to any one. Look on eBay and they are quit of few of this NV monoculars for auction and also for parts. The image intensifier tube is 90% of the cost of any NV devises. GB...stewbison

There is good bet that I have a tube for this, but it not worth sending to me. Also, maybe it not the image intensifier tube but something else in the electronic.............Made in Russia--Red Star

I have a Ariel FT 300 it will not turn on

Hello. It seems these Russian made monocular won't operate aftera while. It is a common ocurrance with these and others NV devises.

It probably the image intensifier tube that is bad. It would be cost prohibitive to have it repair by Famous Trail Optic. I am take a guess here. The cost would be about $100 + shipping to and from, and about $200 for a used Russian image intensifier tube. New tube will be approx. $400.

Try if you have their address and phone give them a call. They might give you a deal. Normally what happen they will tell you it is none repairable but they will give you a great deal on another Russian made monocular. I'm really sorry for you. GB you...stewbison

Hello, I fell the same way buddy. Sorry to here about your Night Vision monocular? But Tasco NV monocular is manufactured in Russia. It seem you got a few year out of your NV devise...7 years is very good. The biggest thing that goods bay is the Russian manufactured image intensifier tube. There are cheap. This is about 85% of the monocular problem and 90% of the cost. Two items that viewed as important with NV devises. The case, and the image intensifier tube. Now, if you have Russian optics above 50mm for the front lens then on could consider that the optics are another cost. Auction it off on eBay as "doesn't work, parts only" Sorry, and I wish you luck...GB...stewbison

Lights come on but you cannot see through it

Hello, it seems another Russian manufactured night vision monocular has died. Sorry to say, but the image intensifier tube is bad. I really doubt that Night Owl Optics in El Paso, Texas will fix it for you. Because of it age of 5+ years old. Hint: auction it on eBay as night vision monocular parts. Sorry. I would fix it for you but the last one I fixed, it took me two months to find image intensifier tube and it was used. I wish you all the luck. GB...stewbison
