Camcoder (Panasonic PV-GS15) does not play back recording

My camcoder is 4 yr old. It was working fine, recently it stopped playing back recorded video. When I select play mode, it displays blue screen with time counter running and no audio. All other functionality seems to be working. I can record the video, after recording video if I directly go to play mode (with out turning off) then it displays recorded video with blue horizontal tripes and no audio. If I turn off camcoder and again go to play mode it displays blue screen and no audio.
How can I fix this problem?

thanks

Sorry to say- but it is trashed.. It would cost more to fix it than it would be to buy a new one.

SOURCE: Panasonic Palmcorder PV-GS15 Software

What u need at the minimum is an addon card for downloading(refer to the manual for the exact No. it is something like IEEE1395 or so) Then connect the cam to this thro' the cable.
If u use windows xp u have a movie maker. u can use that s/w. Else try to get pinnacle studio or studio 8 to dump and edit etc.
all the best.

SOURCE: PANASONIC SDR-H40P (Write Proctetion)

I had the same problem while trying to delete video off of the camera's hard drive using the VideoCam Suite software. I never could figure out how to do it using the software. However, you can delete scenes from the hard disk directly in the camcorder using the menu. For instructions, see page 59 of the manual for this camcorder at http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SDRH40P-MUL.PDF Good luck!

How do I fix error code E61?

No need of any special solution. I had the same issue/error message with my DCR-DVD01 - Sony camcoder which is now 9 years old.

What i did is the following? (weird steps):

1. Turn on the sony camcoder - while connected to wall power
source.
2. Keep a heavy cloth on top of your dinner table or kitchen island.
3. Hold the camcoder facing up in the regular way as you try to
record a new video.
4. Hold on the front of the camcoder & at the back and gently tap
on the heavy cloth (as if you are going to smash it & break it).
5. Do this 3 times.
6. Shut down the camcoder.
7. Restart the camcoder after 3-5 seconds.
Thats it.
This worked for me.

The vision is blury and it keeps flashing E:61:10

E:61:10 is a lens error code. Could be a connection issue between the lens and the main board or a bad lens. You will need to have this looked at by an experienced technician. www.austintelstarservices.com

Panasonic pv-gs15 will not play back recorded video in the mini dv deck. all i see is a blue screen with red text ''picture'' on bottom right corner of the screen

Make sure your tape tab is open. See if this works. Sometimes the tab should be closed to prevent eraser or recording over existing film but sometimes the tape tab has to be open to allow for playback or dubbing?

My screen is striped blue during playback with no soud panasonic palmcorder pv gs15

Your tape has a small latch on it that closes to protect from recording or eraser and opens to allow for playing or dubbing. Slide it open and see what happens.

I have filmed on to a tape, and now am trying to download on to my PC and store it there. How please?

hi

most camcoders do have a USB connectivity cable and using this connect the camcoder to the PC

once connected u will need to install the required drivers for the Camcoder to be recognised by the PC (this is a one time process)

then the firmware with the Camcoder will also provide u with some basic recording software u may install that too and then go to the starting of the tape (rewind on camcoder) and play and at that point in time click on the record button on the software installed on the PC

hope this helps

Camcoder problem

The USB port on the camera is to download still pics from the Camera's SD Card to your computer. USB connector is not for video downloading.

For video downloading you have to use FireWire port. Your computer must have a FireWire port too. You will need some sort of video downloading software - like Microsoft's MovieMaker. There are some free software to download videos from mini dv camcorders to computer. It takes 1Hr to download 1Hr tape - you have to play it all to record it all. You will need video editing software to do different editing if you want. Otherwise, MovieMaker can make a good avi file. You can upload that to YouTube.

3yrs ago when I purchased this cam, I did not have FireWire port in my computer. I searched online a lot and found a way to download video using USB - it was tough, complicated. It was possible, but quality was too bad and too many dropped frames.

If you do not have firewire port, google for FireWire PCI Card, should be <$10. You have to install it inside your PC. Also search for FireWire cable ($10+/-) that will match BOTH camera and PC ports.

Thank you.

Need help

Download Driver
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-matrix.pl?upd_id=1452

Install then download and install a video program like movavi videosuite or ulead videostudio (i personally recommend movavi).

Plug in the camcorder and switch it on, put it on play/edit and play the video, press record or capture in the software and let it record!

once the video scene in the camera is done, stop the recording and do what you wish!

GOOD LUCK!
