How do you change the drum of the hp laserjet 1000 cartridge?

The OPC drum is contained inside the toner cartridge.. just buy a new toner cartridge! OPC stands for (Organic Photo Conductor) and its part of the toner cartridge.. Buy a new cartridge HP order number is Q2612X or aftermarket

The drum is part of the toner-cartridge, so when replacing the toner-cartridge, you are also replacing the drum.

Solution - Change cartridge :)

Dirty print out is basically due to cartridge related issues. HP Laserjet P2015 uses HP53A Cartridge.Take out the cartridge and inspect it under torch light. You would notice the line(s) on the green drum. Gently clean its drum/ (green roller) with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. The drum is located under a cover which can slide with a little push. Checkout for any spilled toner inside the printer and clean it also. Print a few pages so that the parts get further cleaned. I think, this would solve the issue.
Please note that, this step may help temporarily, if the cartridge and its parts are worn out. In that case it is always better to replace the toner cartridge.

Moreover, streaks (thicker lines) and dots etc indicate faulty PCR Roller which is located just behind the green drum inside the cartridge. Try to clean it too. It requires a bit of improvisation because it is difficult to clean it fully. If the problem persists, replace the toner cartridge with a genuine one or get the PCR Roller changed by a professional. You have a bad toner cartridge.
Did you have the line with the original cartridge?
A line every 3" is the diameter of the toner drum.

You don't want to clean the drum. It is done automatically as the drum rotates. The cleaning blade scrapes the residual toner off of the drum.

If the drum is not getting clean then you have to replace the cartridge.

Please help by clarifying what part you are calling a drum.

If it is the drum in the toner cartridge, then there is 50/50 chance of cleaning it successfully with alcohol and a very soft cloth,
perhaps a qtip dipped in it. If this doesnot do it then you should just repalce the toner cartidge which houses the drum.

If it is the FUSER then you will have to just replace the fuser. Sometime the fuser is reffered to as the drum by some

There is issue with cartridge drum change that drum (It's in blue or green colour). the second option is change the cartridge.

Asside from removing the toner cartridge and using a lint-free cloth or tissue to remove toner residue (or possibly using a can of compressed air to blow it out) there isn't much to be done to clean it. If you are getting ghosted images from a prevous page, your toner cartridge may be defective.

If you are using a refurbished or re-manufactured toner cartridge this would not surprise me. The only remanufactured toner company my clients have had any success with is Rhinotek, but i recommend sticking with the HP cartridge. Also if it is an older cartridge and infreaquently used it may still need to be replaced. If replacing the toner doesn't fix the problem after several test prints, then it is possible that the fuser is bad... in which case it's time for a new printer since the fuser is not replaceable.
