SOURCE: hello! the pump on our qca majestic hot tub

If you live in cold weather and are not using it much lower your thermostat. If the freeze control kicks on (at about 38-40degrees) it will constantly try to heat the spa to where you have the heat set when the air temp is low. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a 2004 great lakes hot tub with a balboa

check to see that the flow switch is working properly, it may not have enough flow on low speed to allow the heater to turn on. Make sure your filter/s is/are clean. If you have a pressure switch instead of a flow switch, it may need to be adjusted or replaced.

tip

Air cond.

if your ac is running but no air is comming out the vents first check your filters they should be changed in summer time every month winter every other month keep clean for better air flow and to keep your electric bill down if its not blowing cold air you are low on freon if no air is comming out at all turn it off that means it is froze up that usully happens when you turn the thermostat setting to low you really dont want to set below 75 because the compresser never will shut off and it will freez up.

I HAVE A FRIGIDARE UPRIGHT REFRIGERATOR AND ITS NOT GETTING COLD ON THE BOTTOM HALF THE FREEZER IS COLD BUT THE OTHER DOESNT GET COLD AT ALL. MODEL # FRT18NNC (OLDER MODEL)

Good Afternoon Gina, thank you for your post!

If your freezer is not cooling, it could have a floating restriction in the lines or something more complicated like an issue with the sealed system that only a professional can repair. This can include the compressor not working correcting, the evaporator fan not turning, or even coolant in the lines with incorrect levels to properly cool. Do you hear the compressor running? If the compressor is running, humming or even a little warm then that is typically normal. I suggest cleaning the unit out including the coils you can reach (typically located underneath or behind the unit). Also try checking and see if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and the door. Now close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bills falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing. If any of these suggestions prove to be ineffective, connect with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially more serious issues.

Crosley upright freezer fan blows - but doesn't get cold anymore

Hello burnelltolbe - If your refrigerator is not cooling, it could have a floating restriction in the lines or something more complicated like an issue with the sealed system that only a professional can help with. This can include the compressor not working correctly, the evaporator fan not turning, or even coolant in the lines not at the correct levels to properly cool. If the compressor is running, humming, or even a little warm then that is typically normal. However if the compressor is running hot, then it is over working and the issue could be before the compressor in the evaporator fan, coil or coolant lines. I suggest cleaning the unit out including the coils you can reach, and make sure no food items are blocking any vents in the unit. Also try checking and see if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing it. If any suggestion proves to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Just had my Hayward Tristar 2-spd pump/motor replaced a month ago. I've been running it on high speed for about 3 weeks because my control pad went out and I couldn't get it to run on low speed. ...

running the pump on high speed will not have caused the problem, they are meant to run 3,450 rpm's continually. It's more than likely a supply power problem like you mentioned. Check GFI's, and breakers to see if anything has tripped.

Problem1 is excessive electric bill.
Suspect is new 120Volt Taco recirculation pump.
Look at motor nameplate for amps and watts and HP. Taco pump is usually robust 1/3 HP which is 252 watts or same as running four 60 watt light bulbs.
If pump runs 18 hours per day x 252 watts = 4536 watts or 4.5 Kilowatts per day
Buy a kill-o-watt meter that plugs into outlet, and plug Taco pump into the meter for 48 hours.
This will give you total watts used for that time period.
1000 watts = 1 kilowatt.
Electric bill is probably 12 to 20 cents per kilowatt.
So if Taco uses 4.5 kilowatts per day, that is $.54 to $.90 per day multiplied by 30 days.
So cost is $15 to $30 per month.

Problem2 is Taco runs too long.
Taco operates either by thermostat or by timer. You choose which mode by using slide switch that is usually located under the timer dial. Set switch to TIMER to use timer, and ON to use thermostat, and off to turn TACO off.
If Taco is set for thermostatic operation, the Taco might be defective. Or there could be crossover problem at single handled faucet.
Another problem could be air in the water line: install air vent.
