Since few days by switching on the TV I have some shadows (double text) on the screen. After one or 2 minutes it disappear and the picture is perfect again. It seems that the T-con board could be the source of the problem. My question are : 1) where is the T-con board located ? 2) do I need special instructions or tools to open the back cover ? Thanks MK

You probably have a bad LCD Panel. It is a common failure. If the unit is out of warranty, call Sony at 1800-222-SONY and see if they could help with the cost of repair. They would require a Service facility to evaluate it to be sure it is the Panel.

Sorry not a solution...We also have exact same problem (TV about 1.5 years old) - out of warranty - all Sony told me to try was to un-plug TV for 2 minutes - useless.
I am trying to decide if I should bring to service store to try to fix.
I hate to spend a couple of hundred dollars to find out it costs $2000 - less then a new one.
Anyone have any suggestions?

The part # you gave is the Control Board which sells for $668.79. The T-Con board your looking for is part of the LCD Display Panel and is not sold separately. I suggest you start by cleaning the ribbon cables from the control board to the t-con board. If that doesn't help then you had better take it in to a service center to verify which part is bad because there are no refunds, only replacement after you buy a board.

It my be the contacts on the flat cable ribbon connectors.
