Channel changer locks up

Installed outside antenna and scanned digital channels for accessibility. Acquired Ch 67-1, 67-2, and 67-3 (in Morehead KY) in addition to others. When I browse the channels I get hung up (cannot change channels) on one of the 67-x channels and must unplug the TV and wait for it to reset to continue browsing. Only happens when I hit on of the 67-x channels. Never had access to the 67-x channels before. Hitachi 57XWX20B. When I turn off those channels using the channel manager, everything works fine.

Thanks

SOURCE: cant attain digital channel scan on hitachi rear projection tv

Do you have the tuner locked out for use of HDMI input only?
Most of the time when a selection is not able to be hi-lited it is
because a feature that is activated locks out other selections.
Hope this helps,

SOURCE: Cable in my area has

Unfortunately, you need a set-top box. The Hitachi 65F59 has an ATSC (digital OTA) and NTSC (analog) tuner. It doesn't have a clear-QAM (unencrypted digital cable) tuner.

There are a few DVR set-top boxes with QAM tuners that you can buy separately. (You will need to make sure a given model is compatible with your service. FIOS uses a different option on the Cable Card than other providers.) Alternatively, you can get a cable box from your company.

Retrevo has the manual for this Hitachi TV here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Hitachi-65F59-TVs-manual/id/371ci977/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the PDF.

If you want OTA HD, you will need to determine the correct antenna for your area and the direction to the transmitters. (External antennas pick up more stations. In some areas amplification may be needed to get a good signal.) See antennaweb.org or tvfool.com for searches on the appropriate antenna to get a signal and where to point the antenna. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna but is very conservative in the received channel list. You would need to set the TV signal input to Air and rescan for channels if you choose to go with the OTA signal.

I wish that I had better news for you.

I have a palsonic TFTV826HD tv and when i came home from a 2 week holiday , i am not able to receive the ABC and ch 10 stations , others i have , i reset and did the auto tuning

Do you use an digital antenna receiver which gives you a couple basic air channels for free Or is it through a cable company? It could be the weather conditions or the antenna could be unplugged or cable wire could be loose or cable company could have certain channels being fixed.
. We have a big Element HD tv flat screen and use an digital antenna receiver and when receiver is unplugged or if our outside/entry way doors are open (receiver antenna is outside) none or some of channels won't work..
Hope this kinda helps :/ :) let me know.at least I tried lol

How to install indoor digital tv antenna to a lcd tv & pickup digi channels

First, the LCD TV has to have a digital tuner in it. Older ones may not. If it does, then you attach the antenna connector to the TV connection that is marked TV IN or CABLE. Then, in the TV's menu, you would need to ensure that the digital tuner is selected. Once that is done, then, still in the menu, perform an "ON AIR" channel scan to find and lock in whatever digital channels that the antenna can detect.

Accidently changed something and not able to get antenna tv now - do not ahve cable here at work

I am unable to see at a glance how to correct this but it is between its menu, channel and volume buttons to alter the settings it may be worth to run through the re-tune sequence below?

To preset a channel or to change a preset channel, follow the procedure below.
1) Press the POWER button to turn on the TV.
2) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears
on the TV screen.
3) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "CHANNEL SET".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
4) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "AUTO PRESET CH".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
The tuner scans and memorizes all active channels in your area.
? The TV distinguishes between standard TV channels and cable channels.
? When AUTO PRESET CH action is completed, the lowest memorized channel reappears on the
screen.
? When you press the CH(annel) ? or ? button after selecting "AUTO PRESET CH", the tuner
will stop at the memorized channels only.
? The TV may recognize TV channels to be CATV channels by the receiving conditions. In this
case, try AUTO PRESET CH action again in the fine receiving conditions.
? When AUTO PRESET CH is activated where there is no TV signal input,"NO TV SIGNALS"
will appear on the display after the completion of channel scanning.
[ADD/DELETE FUNCTION]
1) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears on the TV screen.
2) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "CHANNEL SET".
Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.
3) Press the VOL(ume) ? button so that "ADD/DELETE" is selected.
4) Use the CH(annel) ? or ? button to select the
channel you wish to put into memory or to erase from memory.
Note: The menu will disappear in about 10 seconds.
Perform "ADD/DELETE" function while this display appears on the
screen.
? Press the VOL(ume) ? or ? button to light up the channel number
in LIGHT BLUE if you wish to add the channel into memory.
? Press the VOL(ume) ? or ? button to light up the channel number
in LIGHT RED if you wish to erase the channel from memory.
5) Press the MENU button to exit the menu.

Hope this helps.

My digital prism small TV turns on, but wont pick up any channels even after scanning.

When you scan it does it actually find channels? If you are in a remote area or living in a basement dwelling it may not be able to lock down on any channels. Try going "outside" at about 2AM and try scanning.....and see if it locks on to any channels. Also, your antenna. Use a telescoping antenna that has at lease 8 links on it.

Apex digital250A digita tv converterl

The outside antenna gets threaded onto the RF connector that says antenna in. Then either connect another RF cable to the tv and select ch 3 or 4 (switch on back of box) or use the yellow, red and white cable to the tv. If you used the three cables use the remote to select the input you used. Just advance the channels until you find the picture. If you used the RF cable, just tune to channel 3 or 4 whichever you used. Now do a channel scan with the remote that came with the converter. Once that is done you will have to use that same remote to change digital channels.

Why won't my new Vizio DTV work on an antenna without the digital box?

Do you have the antenna aimed correctly and the correct antenna for the distance between your location and the stations? Check antennaweb.org and tvfool.com for the directions to the stations you should be able to receive. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is very conservative in the station list. TVfool gives the stations you should get with various different types of antennas. Tall trees and buildings will block signal strength so consider the environment around you.

With digital signals, if you do not have enough signal strength for a given tuner, the channel will not come in. An amplifier may help you get the signal, particularly if the signal is shared to several devices. Failure of an amplifier or lightning surge protection can stop the signal from reaching the TV. A surge through the antenna can damage the tuner.

A damaged cable can also be a source of a problem. Check the outside portion of the wire as well as the interior wires. Replace any that have damaged insulation or ends.

For this TV, if you have done a channel scan with the TV set to the Input TV/DTV, and the Signal Source set to Antenna. Turn the antenna and then set the Additional Scan to On. (Menu > TV > Channels > Additional Scan.) Then do another channel scan.

If you need a copy of the manual, see: http://www.vizio.com/m220va.html#support .

Locked out of digital antenna in setup. I had it

1. ensure that you are on the TV tuner when you are trying to scan channels
2. if analog tuner works, but you cannot access digital tuner....the digital tuner is broken

When you turned channels before, did it switch between analog and digital channels seamlessly or did you need to press a button to acces digital channels seperately?

If you accesed digital channels seamlessly, #2 is not likely
If seperately, #2 is very likely.

No channels downloaded

The antenna must be hooked up to the converter box. The better the antenna, the better your reception will be.

Not everyone in the country will be in range of digital signals. Digital signals have a shorter range than analog signals do right now. It is possible (but unlikely) that you are not currently in range of any digital signals.

So make sure you are set up like this - Antenna--converter box--Television. Then scan for channels. You should still pick up any analog signals while the box is hooked up, you will just view them the same way you do now, by changing the TV station rather than the converter box station.
